hey dude, just read through the thread, nice work man
im about to buy a 280se and really want to bag it caus cut springs are illegal here
do you mind me asking what you need to bag these things? im not familiar with these cars.
any help would be sweet
Looks gorgeous. The light setup in the front is perfect. Classy!
Yes, can wait to see more of the fintail. That thing dumped would be amazing, however it doesnt need to be either. Really cool car. You have quite the stable going on sir
The fintail looks ultra proper even at that height. I wouldn't be so worried to dump it.
BTW nice stable you've got currently.
Thanks guys! I havent had much time to do anything with any of the cars, been doing alot of house stuff trying to get our current house ready to sell. Kills me though were coming up on winter, I **** messing with cars during this time of year.
We did go pick up a chrimas tree in the finny, the guy refused to tie the tree to the roof, so he threw it in the trunk....im gonna repaint the car anyways, so it wouldnt bother me if it scratched the paint up.

Man this thread is like my Bible right now! Amazing work! I picked up a 73 280se 4.5 for dirt cheap...so cheap it might hurt people feelings lol. It's only got 88k miles and it's a clean title two owner car. I love that color pearl gray?. That's the color I knew I wanted when I saw it on a 300sel . I'm gonna do the white roof though.
Thanks! The color is not a mercedes color, it was chosen out of the paint book at the shop because the book didnt go that far back At some point I will redo the roof on mine, but adding something different to it.
I'm not sure on the w108's but on my w115 i had to remove the windshield to take the dash out. not many bolts holding it in, not the worst but not necessarily easy.
you should be able to pull the dash pad out without pulling the glass, of course you need small fingers and a ratcheting or angled screw driver
Ah the wood, yeah i will be doing the same thing soon, the ones surrounding the windows on my doors were shot, so i tossed them all, I actually prefer the look without them personally, dont like too much wood and have no plans to replace them [im sure this has purists rolling over, although my car is far from being pure :-P].
Ive heard that its not that hard to pull the dash apart, just time consuming, check out this link:
Ive only redone my glove box and ash tray [as it was the easiest to pull ]. I'll probably pull the rest out next weekend, thats if my heater levers come in by then, my dash bow is somewhat trashed, I build furniture too, sure Ive managed to get most of the laminate layers back in place, just need to re-veneer it. Then...i have to figure out what to do with my cracked up dash pad

ok, i got a re-donk good deal on this Finny, been searching the dude down for over a year, and searching for a finny for god knows how long, this was too good to pass up and more importantly, its the car ive been chasing down for awhile.
not too much will be done to this one, just lower it, been tuning it up. Deal with my wife was i couldnt really spend any money on it as were still saving up to buy another house. I'll start a sep. thread for this at some point.
every time I see your car I think...damnit! I bought the wrong body style! haha jk I love my coupe. not too many around still in good shape. A few more tools sourced and I'll finally be able to get mine started. Unfortunately not in time for SoCal Euro this weekend though.
haha, coupes are awesome! Not many are done, i cant wait to see it!
I'm in VA, probably 3-4 hours south of you, but I'd really love to make a day trip and check the car out sometime. I've been looking at W108s HARD here lately, and would love to be able to actually check one out in person. Your car is absolutely gorgeous, sir. Bravo.
