    • I really want both of these! I love everything Italvolanti. If they're still for sale in a few weeks I'll probably scoop up the red one because I have a matching advertisement framed on my wall.

Anyways just a little winter update, my poor car is back on the jack stands and hibernating snugly covered up against the wall of my shop. I've sold the Rokkor coilovers out of it in hopes of upgrading to some better ones that can handle a full tank of fuel.

Right now I'm looking for a used set of H&R Ultra Lows or Konis, but if I can't find some for a good price I'm going to give the new WRD coilovers a shot. WRD has been at it for so many years, they can't have gotten this wrong, and from what the guys at APtuning said, they're a home run in the middle-of-the-road section of the market.

      • So I finally got a hold of one of my own. It's only taken 2 years to find this gem, but I couldn't be more excited about having it.

thank you much! Idk how I didn't see this until now.

I don't have much of an update other than I ordered a fresh set of coilovers which I'm excited to try out the WRD Street Advantage. New product from an OG company should equal success.

I looked back into this thread just now and noticed a bunch of my picture links are broken. Such a bummer, tumblr (where I had hosted all the pictures in a blog) seems to be breaking some links.

If you see me down there come say hi. I'll be at the Mk2 meet Friday night 5pm at the indoor go-kart track.

                              • Wow, so I haven't posted here in 2 years. A few things have changed.

New wheels on the car, that's exciting. I'll post those when it's all finished. New transmission going in, which dictated a new clutch disc cuz of input shaft size change. Here's some less exciting nerd shit too.

Not doing a shaved bay anytime soon, but I've wanted to move the battery to the trunk for a while just to get it outta the way and still retain the huge stock battery. This little Delco positive junction from a Suburban worked nicely to securely distribute power up in the bay.
Finally, made up this dummy tray to cover where the battery sat and some wiring that I'm not looking to cut back and remove all the way thru the firewall. My buddy Dave tig'd it up nicely for me.

Well that slipped thrust plate clip somewhat explains the clutch catching at random pedal heights. I'm thinking I might tack weld the new one in place. Also the throw-out "bearing" was shot (not pictured) and fell apart when I removed it. You can see some really nice wavy grooves in pressure plate too, looks like I need a new one of those before the new trans goes in.

Note the pile of clutch material on the floor when I turned the flywheel over.
