It did not. And yes it is a small dent. It was there when I got the car :/ I can actually ask about it though as I hate it. The car is far from perfect though and I would at one point like to go over the whole body and respray so I don't want to get too carried away right now. If you look at the front of the driver's fender you can see it's a little wrinkled. It's hard to tell in person but stuff like that bothers me.
I think that with your ability, you could do the body work yourself. I'm kinda surprised that you haven't/didn't. Blending paint is an art form, so that might be a little different story. I would try pulling that dent out with a suction cup. Get a couple different sizes, you might get decent results. It works better when the dent is in the middle of the panel, but it's worth a shot. Go to Harbor Freight with one of the 20% off coupons that are everywhere and you can save 20 cents off of a 2$ one.
I'd try to just get another non wrinkled fender at the J/Y. It'll be way easier than trying to iron out the wrinkles.
*******HAHA. I just noticed that in both of my rolling shots my face is perfectly covered by something. I'm so mysterious. Ya'll have no idear what I look like******
I submit that you are the fellow in the picture that you claim not to be. No one has ever seen you and him together at the same time. Plus, didn't someone say that you have "an heroic beard that rivals that of a viking plunderer..."?
Actually, I can and have done body work many times (on this car too). I even did it on the spot in question (look at the picture of it in primer). I just wanted him to make it perfect.
Like you said though, blending paint is cray and I'm not there yet.
I plan on nabbing another fender. I already have another hood ready to go. I just need to get some money together. I'm going to do it all at once so the car will stay like this for now until I have another car to drive while I rip this apart. That's probably a couple years from now though.
For real. I need to get off the grid. Move to Iceland.
So the body guy said he would start on the car tomorrow. I'm extremely worried and scared as nobody has ever worked on this car but myself. He's also said he has had to pull it in and out of his shop and "it's been a pain in the butt because it just drags and scrapes on the gravel". He said nothing is being damaged but I'm still scared.
