The rise of a Lady - or - The first Audi A2 build thread on s|w
Sideskirts, front and backlip are at the bodyshop to get repainted.
Why repainted? Good that you are asking!
A co-worker of mine told me that a buddy of his is working at a bodyshop and can paint my primered bodykit for small money.
Since he was recommended by a co-worker and the fact that he worked for Mercedes once was enough for me to entrust him with this task.
Well. Guyze, one good advice. If you are low on money and time, be sure that you see one of the work that is promised to you. I got the bodykit back and it was not glossy black but "rattlecan matte" with lots of pimples in it. I could have achieved the same with a can, really. However at the moment I am trying to get my advance payment back, but he seems to ignore all of my messages.
Red hood is back. And the color mismatch is very very little. I guess if you don't know it, you will not even notice it. I like it when people do good work for a reasonable price.
Aa~aand mounted: The Votex wing, also a nice paintjob from the bodyshop.
Here you can see how the front sits, I think the fitment is not too bad, is it?
And finally, some rubbing in the back. Very easy to fix, will go for that later since its only rubbing on plastics which doesn't bother me too much. Maybe on the weekend or so...
But I will get my red hood back from the bodyshop tomorrow because the clearcoat went off. This one is only a pretty dull temporary one. And my red hood still got the silver rings.
And they did a great job in fixing the door, cant see anything and everything is perfect.
Looks like a big audi tt, and thats a good thing! Great choice on the wheels too, they really look good against the red paint. I also like the black hood too. Would be cool if the audi badges were silver though.
Well, because we lacked 10 of the 20 bolts needed, the mechanic decided to put the wheels on the passenger side and get it checked from the TÜV guy. The TÜV guy approved that and so he checked the numbers of my car (inside, drivers side) and forgot to close the door.
Meanwhile the mechanic was busy on the passenger side and did not notice that the TÜV guy forgot to close the driver's door and lifted the car...until the driver's door hit the engine of the car lift. A loud CRACKING noise and that's it...
