Handling characteristics have dramatically changed and improved. The car feels very flat going around turns and during acceleration. It's a kind of a weird feeling at first, because the Z06 had very very subtle body roll and twitchiness that is felt especially when you come out of the turn. I seemed to have decreased the twitchy feeling by adding Bilstein shocks that were specifically valved for the Z06 by DRM (Doug Rippie Motorsports), however, I couldn't get the adjustability I was looking for when it came to lowering the car. There is only so much adjustment one can do with the adjustment bolts at the end of the leaf spring.

Now with coilovers, there is no twitchy feeling, and the fact that I can adjust the dampening as well as the sways to control under/oversteer is just an added benefit to go coils and sways...I'm looking to achieve that nice turn in with the car planted, and an occassional slight dift if need be. I will be adjusting the ride height and dampening tonight.

Have you heard of any draw backs using a rear coils over the leaf?

Or is this just classic GM not giving fucks?

It's a pretty spectacular piece of kit.

GM comes from the school of thought that "if it ain't broke...why fix it." The corvettes have been using transverse leaf springs since 1963 and it actually does pretty well in stock form. Just look at the Nurburg ring times for the Z06 and ZR1.

Only drawback I can think of is price$$$, and coils are on front and rear. Car does not lift in the front, and ride is a lot more planted...plus you can go LOW.

    Also added:

    APR Carbon Fiber front splitter
Katech Carbon Fiber sideskirts (+1.5lbs. both)
    GM full length racing spoiler
LED license plate and reverse lights
Nasty yellow fog lights which is coming out soon for something else.

    Under the hood...
