  • Stance coming... but lets take a look back... (Just another E36)

Well, I finally pulled the trigger on a proper set of wheels and a coilover setup. So my "stance" is currently getting worked out. But before I get a proper shoot of the current set up I figure I give a little story of how this bimmer came to be.

Bought it originally just as a daily driver with no real plans to "mod" it, but it's suspension was shot, so I figured why not do a modest drop since I was replacing the parts anyway... thats when it went downhill...

    When I brought it home:

Bought this car with the money insurance gave me from the 318 that I got rear ended in, with money to fix the little things... 318 had better wheels then the stocks so I threw those on... and had it tinted.

Fog brackets where busted, and lenses were pitted to hell, so I decided to replace them, and got my suspension put on (just a modest H&R/Billy sport setup for the DD).

(boss' at the time M3 next to me)

Disliked the amber's so went to smoked corners, also ditched the crome grills:

Random shot of my old EG hatch I had:

    Back to the bimma!
Was working at an Audio shop, so I started putting a system in to showcase the shop.

Also caught a LOCAL catback Supersprint exhaust (with horrid tips I know, but the price and location were right... plans to replace them eventually)

Fun sticker I had for a while:

Picked up an AC Schnitzer (authentic) type I lip and ZKW ellipsoids:

Wanted to make the front bumper a little more unique, so I whipped out the dremel and went to town, and this is what I came up with...

Stereo finished (post leaving previously stated audio shop... whoops!)

Euro E36 wheel with E46 stereo SWC's retrofitted, wired through E38 slipring, Yes it works:

Also put this 3-button homelink hardwired in at the same time again to showcase for the shop that I didnt work at when it finally got done... haha

Girl at the time had a mom with breast cancer so I rocked this for the month of October for the last two years:

Finally picked up some decent wheels (reps... but better then the millie's):

Added a 5mm spacer after those were taken to the rear to help close that gap.

Most recent shot I have before it went under the knife.

    Things done you can't see:
    Rogue SSK
    Rogue RSM's
    GC rear camber arms
    M3 3.23 LSD diff
    Powerflex RTAB/FCAB
    5 Farad Cap
    Red top Optima
    120A Bosch Alternator

    Things to come/in process:
    False floor redo
BC coils (Installed, just need alignment)
O.Z. Mitos (On, but soon to be taken off and refinished and fresh 452's)
ACS roof spoiler (Waiting for paint)
ACS rear diffuser (In the mail, going to paint)

Thanks for looking... at letting me whore out some. I'll be updating when I get the car settled out on the new stance...

Never putting an M bumper on. It seems that's step one for every other E36. I like to be a little different.

Thanks. It seems to get under appreciated at shows... but it is what it is.

            Always support second base! haha

The car seems to have a bunch of tricked electronics - Looking pretty good even on reps. What's your surgical plan?

Not bad at all. The cleanliness of your audio install is impressive.

As previously stated (and I'm sure you're aware), those exhaust tips are a dealbreaker for the outside. Once you get them replaced, you're on the money.

O.Z. Mito's and BC coils, since its not a daily driver anymore it will be low... low to the point I have to build ramps to get out of my driveway...

Yea, I think I'm pulling the exhaust off when I get the wheels refinished to fix the horrible bugeye/rocketboosters look, but as I stated for supersprint, local, and price. I deal with it

Audio install goal was to keep it as clean as possible with still being able to show off some. I plan on changing up the false floor here in the next few months to give it a little more pizzaz (sp?) since I want it to get a bit more attention.

Exhaust fix is in the plans, no worries.

Yea the audio is pretty beast mode. Even on the highway windows down I can get bass feel out of it. 800w isn't too shabby.

Got it aligned today. Going to have it washed and prelim shots of stance up soon. Hopefully by the end of the week if this weather holds.

Wheel refinish is going to be put on a back burner... gotta reinforce/armor the front end to make it survive roads here.... Motion Motorsports underpanel, and custom X-brace skidplate cover to come...
