Yay for progress! It doesn't look like Ill be able to drive the Jetta at sowo. I will how ever still be there and so will the Jetta. The only way it will get there is by a trailer. So many outside influences have slowed down progress from one reason to another. If there is one thing I can say no matter how well laid out the plan you cannot account for everything. Its been interesting to say the least the last few weeks. So here is a few pictures to keeps things interesting until the puzzle can be completed.
Here is a pic of the driver side trailing arm built with one 3/4 and two 5/8 heim joints and 1.25 inch dom tubing. Its my first attempt and try on building anything of the kind (ie control arm). I made two and the second one I messed up and don't know what I did wrong yet. Ill have to wait to make the second arm till I can get to the race shop to get the rest of the parts.
I got the tail light temp let welded in. A big thanks goes out to my brother Matt for his attention to detail in helping me get these set just right. They are far from finished but you get the point.
Another large mess made by the infamous Ian K. I cant thank this man enough. Ian has been a great help in more ways then one.
The harness is about 60-70% finished and all of it has been by him.
If not for help from my friends I wouldn't have been near as complete as now.

been working on the compressor mounts. It wasn't supposed to be anything extravagant and you wont see them any way. The idea is to make it seem like the compressors are floating. I will try to make it bolt in some way. Here is some progress. I figured I needed a picture update since Im not showing the tie rod idea just yet. I wanted to get all the theory's tested first. The rest of my time has been spent getting parts to and fro, ordering, and chasing down last minute parts.
pic of the compressor mounts separate.
mounts on the compressors
To give you an idea of them being invisible. This compressor has a mount attached and you cant see it.
almost finished. I now have to finish the mount that's going into the car and see how I want them to fit.
tomorrow Ill be dropping parts off to fab shops to do the work I cant due to lack of tooling.
nothing exciting just modifying the header and radiator.

I just spent 3 hours searching through summit for parts needed to finish the Jetta enough to drive FML!
I could use a hand from any one who may know. Im looking for fittings that clip on to the oem fuel lines or pump to use with braided line or an fittings. If some one knows or may know please post.

(48 days left)
I don't have picture worthy progress today. I had an enormous amount of help from Ian-K! thank you again for helping/doing the harness.
I was able to fit the rear bumper and learned the amount of pressure in the rear bumper supports. They were like a shock inside of the mount. They were cut, welded, and the bumper on in the factory mounting holes etc. I was able to finish capping the passenger side end of the frame rail (nothing fancy just closing the box tubing). The rest of the fuel door brackets, inside fender, and misc metal that still needed to be removed before fitting the tubs is out. The compressor mounts were started and the frame section cubby hole was started. Ill take some shots of that when completed. I have a tremendous amount of work left stay tuned.......
