If it isnt for bad luck some times Id have no luck.

I have been getting a lot done and nothing at all. Since the front subframe does not allow me to use sit on the pinch weld I removed it. so a new sub-frame from scratch it is... I am finally getting my garage door replaced. So for that I need to re do the Garage once again. the rest of the work I have been doing is on the s10. I Blew the transmission and radiator in a 2 weeks time. it back up and running. so I decided I needed to have some fun.

Cant wait to do this to the Jetta!

I need to shim the bed in place. Plus this truck has been hit a few times. This is my beater to drag around. The front I either need smaller tires or some serious re location to keep ac and still be able to drag. Im just going wait till I need tires in the front and try that first.

Its not an update for the Jetta but its an update with pictures and air ride..... I wanted to play with some air and said **** it and went for it.

This is the s10 on the old wheels with a hard static.

I miss the wheels but they were bent from something flinging across the highway/ (3 were bent)

I picked up a set of camaro wheels 18x7.5

I have been hoarding parts for the truck that I came across on Craigs list I picked a lot up for very cheap. I mean dirt cheap... That being said I started on a friday after work. I got the OK from the boss to do work at work! I was pretty stoked and happy to have a lift and air tools. So friday night we cracked open some cheap beer and got started.
It was 100-102 deg in the shop and we tore into this truck quick.

We got the front suspension and bed off the first night. I also finished re building the KP bolt in 4 link cantilever set up.

Saturday proved to be very eventful for a few people.
Adam was very busy putting the kp link IN while I ran around and cut stuff.

Anthony and Adam removed the rear cross member While I cut the front frame rails.

I marked then cut both sides pretty close to how this pic looked.

    Safety first!

After getting both sides cut out we got the welder over and ran a few beads on the inside of the frame rail after cutting it out.

    the cord barely made it

Bags Bolted in to the powder coated bag brackets

    Yeah we party!

Started building the tank set up everything was mounted to the tank.

I also picked up a set of upper control arms cheap as well. Here is the front prior to getting the brakes installed (which was very much so needed).

rotors installed and the front finished (for now)

Im going to have clearance issues. I decided to install the front inner fenders back in before I drove it home sunday.

I checked clearance for how much I want to notch

    It rained like Hell too.

    Spare parts

Due to poor planning on my part (like its anything new) I ran into lots of issues and barely made the truck drive able Sunday night for work Monday. So no Sunday pictures were taken. With out the Help from My friends It would not have made it trough the weekend. Thank you every one who came out and made a parts run, turned a wrench, cut something, or just came out to support and drink beer.

The truck how she left sunday Night at 10:00pm when I put that last piece together to be able to drive it.

also found another s10 while driving around without a bed on it.

The truck all "finished" with the bed on and cut out for the notches and pumkin. Now the truck is fit to make parts runs again now with a little comfort and style. : )

Holy shit, from the looks of the first picture of the Jetta, the direction you went was totally unexpected. Can't wait to see more progress, this thing is just nuts. Like most people, the shaved tails are not my favorite. With all of that work, I'd rather see MK5 of MK6 tails or something. Still, its going to be interesting!

Seriously hero status! I have visions of doing similar to my wife's jetta someday and this is great inspiration! I'm always looking for progression in the vw scene and this is truly awesome.

I have not given up on it yet. I am still working on it. I haven't had time to post due to working on it so much. I have been doing a lot of head scratching and running around. I went to 4 fab shops to get my aluminum radiator welded and my header welded. Its been a whirl wind of work, email, shopping for parts, working on the Jetta, making stuff and making stuff work. I've been through all kinds of emotions from ****** the car to loving it all over again. The trailing arms I made don't work and I had to scrap them and start all over again. All the money on materials wasted. I finally got my fuel cell in and it was damaged for the second time from fed ex. I think Ill try to fix it locally and not have to ship it. I'm bummed but what can you do but take it and keep on trucking. The amount of support from friends and the forums has been humbling and well appreciated. I cant thank every one who has come over to help with things enough. when the Jetta is finished Ill have to start a separate thread for all the IOU work Ill be doing. I'm not sure which one will get the most attn or which one will start first. either way thank you all for your appreciation. now for pictures because **** is lame with out em.

first off Happy Cinco De Mayo from Ian and Myself

we take holidays that promote drinking and funny hats seriously.

Here is the abs module bracket. I used the idea from savko's build on vortex. I dont remember what page of his it was off of. I used some 1x1 and flat stock to build a mount for it. I also used some oem bolts I wasnt using to make studs on the bottom of the frame rail.

    pump in

Here is the header mod I dont like the ebay header mounts and for 75 who can complain. I got the flex pipe from summit but any good local exhaust shop should have some. It is also stainless just not polished. If I cant see it I wont polish it.

I had the inline filler welded to the radiator. The mishimoto radiator isn't a great fit. I wouldn't recommend this for the novice. If you don't have cooling issues stay with a good stock radiator. I switched cause I was worried about cooling with all that im doing.
Im not sure if I want to polish or paint that piece. Ill know more when I get it back in.

I also wanted to clean up the stock throttle. I cut the cooling ducts off and Ill clean the rest up layer. I didn't want it to be too bulky so I flipped it as well. I'm not sure who recommended it but I like the way it looks.

one nice thing I found when building the trialing arms is that it pulls the wheel in nicely and gives me an extra3/4 to 1inch clearance. it sucks Ill have to re do them but Its the name of the game.
Thank you again to my Friend Anthony for coming over and helping me figure that part out.

    stay tuned.........

almost forgot to add the new intake and ac fittings. If you don't know who built it by the table it was the infamous swoops. Thank you greg for your patience and taking the time to build this for me.

I never really had one set inspiration. I came from the mini trucking scene. I started my fascination with low riders. I love all things automotive related. Its supposed to look simple on the outside and not so much on the inside.
I wanted the stance of the vip crowd.
The fab look of the hot rods and mini trucks for suspension.
The race or motorsports look for the interior and engine (which will arguably be more show).
Im really just dealing with things one at a time and how ever I feel at that point. The out come is to be a Jetta that lays pinch weld or sill for the people on the other side of the pond. That was the only original plan. It was never supposed to grow to this point. There is no going back now. Its finish or die trying.
