not going to be spending any money on spacers etc for the current steels. Will be ordering a pair of rear's from Merc at some point next year and will dial the rear's in then. (205/40/17 on a 7.5 with a 15-20mm spacer will do the trick)
What's the front flower thingy?
Are you still going for the remap? How quick is it stock? I had one of the first stock smartfortwo's as a company car and I think it was a fun car.
i think your aim for this build is to make it wider than it is long. Over winter you could pull those fenders, get some arches on there maybe and sick some crazy offset 14's on there. Nice smart car

the flower thing is a poppy, part of Remembrance Sunday but I've opted to run with it all year long. Yeah it's something that has received mixed reactions.
will be going for a map come spring and I get some wider rubber all round
102hp from factory though these make plenty more than the advertised figure.
Mapping will take it comfortably to 120. with some cooling and intake mods 140 has been achieved before the clutch giving way
as for quick as stock, it's no supercar but it does move. Comfortably keeps up with 1.6 golfs and hits the limiter comfortably.

thanks! It's been considered, but the car is made out of plastic. (yes, it's a toy car) Not sure how pulling fenders will work out with that. Considered over fenders and then flushing but was told that too much flex will cause cracks etc so I'm sticking to factory arches.
Brabus make a wide arch kit however the car costs something like €35,000 and a dealer won't sell the parts on that car unless I have a VIN...which I can't get given their limited run.
Pictures of said arches...
I'm just going to run 17x7.5 at all corners, spaced so the wheel is sitting flush and the tyres as appropiate, being 3 lug any wheel I've considered has an stupid price on it that I can't currently warrant spending (not that £700 odd for two wheels is that much cheaper but it saves needing to have 4)
hehehe i dont know that a smart car could be this cool...love itt
thanks!
So with the spate of foggy conditions we've had recently and the fact that visibility in snow isn't all that great I decided to put some fog/auxiliary lights on the car.
Having the OEM DRL's meant I would lose them should I want fogs in the factory location so I went down the aftermarket route...
works just as I wanted it to...completely separate from the car's electrics, can't be seen when not on and was cheap to do (£45 in total with a HID relay +wire I had laying about)
a little update for those interested...driveshaft gone again.
yeah, 4 months later and it's basically f*cked. Fed up with the car, going to get the coils taken off and getting rid of the car in favour for something that wont break when low.
well while waiting 2 hours for a recovery vehicle (screaming to the operator that a flat bed is all that was required, they still sent a patrol vehicle out...blah blah blah) got some pictures.
to say I'm gutted is an understatement but I'm not going to be spending £400 every 4 months for a new driveshaft...just not happening. Time for something a bit more grown up maybe?
anyways, pictures. because everyone loves pictures.
