As I said, not designed to be modified.
You're not the typical Smart car owner, haha.
Good luck with it all though, keep us informed of what they do say!
I know, get a fair bit of stick on the smart forums 'why would you want to lower your car, why would you want bigger wheels on the front...blah blah blah'
They're probably all the people thinking they're doing the environment right, not car enthusiasts. Lol
you'd be surprised!
the american forums are more about 'great gas mileage'
the uk ones that I'm on have a fair bit of modding etc (nothing too drastic, there's a few that are slammed stupid with poke and stretch etc)
so err, an update.
car is being repaired (I do feel I'm being mugged off my merc given they sent a warranty booklet and then said I had to prove that the modification did not cause it...surely they should prove it did?)
it definitely makes me appreciate my Brab even more! gearbox is rubbish, engine is sluggish, handles like a boat, stereo is rubbish (even the stock smart 2 speaker thing is better) and the list goes on. On the plus, it does smell nice.
Will update again once the car gets back. (will lift the rear up and get some pics of it all!)
had to fork the bill for the driveshafts, it didn't come as a surprise but I've still sent a letter to Merc head office as a stab in the dark.
so I was on the hunt for an 8" that would fill the low end need. I had my heart set on a 8w3, saw the price of one and then realised I had 500rms to play with meant I wanted two. The price was about £280, plus the box materials etc.
Needed something to satisfy by bass craving.
Had a look into the JBL gto-804's worked out better for my budget, and although I know they're capable subwoofers I wanted the W3's.
Came across the sundown sa8, and contemplated that as it was 500rms and a single driver but I felt that the box would end up being fairly sizeable due to the potential of the sub. Eye'd up the 8" Type R but not a single UK dealer was prepared to entertain me.
So I was in search for a pair of W3's...long story short, got a great price on the microsub enclosure that JL make. Super light, really well built and really, really impressed with it!
...and I was lucky enough to get the last box in the UK
