One thing, (not trying to be a dick but... find another oil pan and I'll TIG it up proper for you. I live literally down the street from you on seven courts. That pan looks haggard as shit.

Thanks man and none taken, I'm having a friend who welds quite well finish it up. That is unless you could tig the pan after its already been mig welded? I don't really have the time/ money to order up a new one, and I know I can seal this one up but I'd be super grateful if you could tig it for me

It depends, if it were my preference, I'd grind down the welds and fill in with mild steel rod. Your not gonna get that crazy stacked nickel look, but it will be a continuous and clean joint.

Yeah thats what my plan was. I've ground down most of it, and am going to be just welding the thing back up and leak testing it by letting it sit out overnight. I just need it strong, not pretty. Thanks for the advice and compliments man

I've started on the car, but not the swap. My mom is currently shopping for new cars to replace her 5.0 moutaineer, so plan on using that for the donor. Here's my build thread: link I'm definitely going with the e36v8.com kit.

I agree better (I originally planned LS), but not cheaper. Because of clearance, e30/e36s need LS1s (instead of LSX) and by the time you buy that and T56, you're close to $3k or more, which is more than the entire 5.0 swap.

every LS block has the exact same external dimensions from the 4.8 lr4 to the 7.0 ls7, you might need the front accessories off of an f-body or corvette because theyre not as long as the front accessories on a truck, but if an LS1 will fit there, than any other LS motor will

and you dont need to use a t56, you could use a t-5 like with the 302 swap or an nv3500 out of a pickup, which is a lot stronger than a t-5
