I had a friend score this for me to keep up with the schmidt beer theme.
I plan on refinishing it and using it as a shift knob.
...also have plans to get rid of the M30 for something a little more displacement and less weight soon as the new workshop is built next year.

change of priorities. The plan was finally getting the gotti's and bags on this winter but after digging around the ass end of the car I came across more worn out parts that need to be address first. New plan? Well right now its all new brake systems, replacing everything excepts a few hardlines and rebuilding the master and calipers. I'll also be putting all new bushings in the subframe and other suspension. Rebuilding the worn and torn CV axles. Last replacing the diff with a LSD.
I may also attack a few trans related problems, but I want to make sure the car is 100% sound before going forward on the bags. So how about some photos as I get started?
first was a peek one of the $25 tires...
I do have one extra so they should last till the gotti's go on.
What made me realized the rear of this car is not in good shape, cracks through out the rotor
brake shoe coming apart, still have a lot of pad life left
and since I no longer have shop/lift its back to the old school days of a cold garage and jackstands
as I'm waiting for parts I'll also be fixing an oil leak from the timing cover from fubaring a gasket on assembly and a power steering/hydro boost leak... needless to say I have a lot to get done this winter.

little progress, still waiting on price for parts so i can start ordering. Tried to pick up a LSD from a buddy's shop this weekend but he actually took saturday off for a change.
after fucking around with it a bit the whole subframe was out.
and shortly after that it was stripped down.
the main reason for pulling it was the bushings, sounded like hell when i let off the throttle because it was knocking so bad from being worn out.
there are many ways of removing old bushings, my #1 way of doing it is burning it out.
well with that done I'm bring it the diff up to my work to tear it down, and start cleaning up the subframe for a little fresh paint.

so rare italian steering wheels that you cant find a hub adapter for? make one.
tearing apart the stock wheel to see whats going on under all that padding
cut off the wheel
cut the bottom of the adapter, just to give an idea of whats going on.
starting to smooth out the stock hub
thinking of leaving it raw finished
about ready to be welded!
