CubbyChowder finally got a BMW 2002 - it's project time

Wow. This is phenomenal.

Makes me wish I had the time to work on an 02 like this.

Yeah I do, I usually work 5 days a week and go up and work on the '02 on the two days that I have off. That's not to say that everyone has time to spend their only free days working on a project. I don't have school, a wife, kids, mortgage, debt, etc so I don't have too many obligations.

Plus, I'm lucky enough to have a very understanding girlfriend who is cool with me spending my free days on my '02, because she knows how important this project is to me and that I want to complete it.

Another full day of work on the Roundie. I am dreaming of the day that I finish the body work on this car! So ready to have that behind me. Found another hidden glob of filler that was hiding a good sized dent in the door, so that sucked. Anyways, here we go.

Thought this looked kind of cool:

Although I was a little discouraged and frustrated today working on the '02 thinking about how much more body work I have ahead of me, I cheered myself up by taking a step back and realizing how lucky I am to have an awesome work space in an amazing location where I get to work on my dream cars. I'm a very fortunate dude:

Nice! I'll be sure to keep an eye for it. I posted that same pic on Instagram but I had to picstitch it because it wouldn't fit in the normal square picture setup IG has. You can use the pic I posted if you want, my IG name is "ayyyitsmikey"

This is located in Templeton, it's close to Paso Robles. My dad lives up here, it's a 30-acre vineyard that is sort of run down after the owner died about 5 years ago. Now my dad is the only one living on the property and takes care of it, and I have access to all the space and tools. It's pretty damn awesome. There are a bunch of vineyards and winery's out here.

Yeah man I live in SLO actually, and commute up to Templeton on my days off. But yeah I'll be taking it to some shows when it's done, it definitely won't make it to Bimmerfest this year but I'll be there with the e30 probably!
