Oh man I just found this thread. I'm new to S/W, having lurked for quite some time. I love what you're doing, and the way you're documenting everything has been fantastic. Great photography too. I can't wait to see the rest of this build. You've got something really special here.

Lips and table are both equally amazing. Really like the table though! Keep it up

Man, I absolutely love the quality of your handiwork! All the unique things you do too - such as the roof rack and knob made for the E30 to match the Nardi wheel, and this table... wish I had your skills and innovation Keep up the amazing work, been following since the beginning and every time my email chimes with an update I jump for joy! Any plans for another video soon?

Completely unrelated to my 2002 build, but I had to take a little break. My girlfriend just bought a nice new couch and it's basically a perfect scratching post for our idiot cat so I had to find a solution. I thought it'd be fun to take some scrap metal from around the property my dad lives on and build a table to cover up the area of the couch that he (the idiot) was terrorizing. This was a really fun project, as I basically went into it with no set plan, I just built it however I felt like at the moment. I knew the general dimensions it needed to be to cover the cushion, but the rest was up to my imagination at the time.

The couch is also next to the walkway into the kitchen, which is why it is triangular shaped. It leaves plenty of room for people to walk in and out of the kitchen.

Here is the frame of it. It is all scrap metal that I found, ground down to bare metal and welded together. I made little swirlys in the tops of the round pipe on the corners haha:

I then spent $30 at home depot on wood and clear coat. Cut some wood, sprayed some clear and ended up with this:

Here is the couch before the table. You can see at the back of the cushion where our cat started tearing shit up:

    And after:

We're staining the wood sometime this week and then it'll be done!

    Thanks everyone!

I received my 15x3" lips for the RM's today. They will now be a square 15x9 et1 set.

I'm excited about them, except the whole purchase transaction was terrible. Racing Team Hoffman on eBay, they have great ratings and sell lots of great products but they didn't answer any of my emails for two weeks after purchasing, finally shipped them out two weeks after they were scheduled to be at my door and then their bad packaging caused two of the lips to be scuffed and scratched due to the lips being sandwiched together. At the end of the day it's not really a big deal, life goes on, it's just a little frustrating.

All that shit aside, these are beautiful!

My dad owned a small traveling business when I was growing up where people from Europe (mainly Switzerland, where my whole family is from) would visit the states for vacation and/or education and he would set them up with a car to use for the time that they were over here. They would usually stay for 3-6 months at a time, so he never invested in super nice cars, just mediocre ones that were reliable but affordable to rent for that long.

Anyways, for some reason, everyone always wanted convertibles. Maybe to live the California dream or whatever haha, I dont know. My dad always bought Chrysler Sebring convertibles because they were cheap, easy to work on, and Euro people were pumped on them. I always ***** them, from day one. So growing up, every time my dad would come back from the car auction with another damn Sebring convertible I'd be all pissy about it haha so it sort of became this running joke whenever he bought one.

Fast forward 5-10 years and here I am in need of sheet metal and my dad happens to have a Sebring convertible sitting there, probably never to be driven again because there were so many things wrong with it. Basically beyond repair, but it still looked like a complete car. He gave me permission to go for it and use whatever I need off of it. I immediately grabbed my cutoff wheel and went straight for the rear quarter panel and cut out a huge piece of sheet metal haha and have been cutting it up ever since. It's sort of a sweet revenge on Sebrings for all those years of ****** them, but now I have to live with the fact that my '02 will forever have a small amount of Sebring in it so I guess I'm still behind.

Props to anyone who actually reads all that haha.
Haha awesome story, that is truly sweet revenge, on a very very ugly car.

Hahaha Sebrings. I owned a Plymouth Breeze, basicly the 4 door sedan version. Nothing exciting about them, just good reliable cars. Kinda like a K series.
