love them! they could have a bit more shoulder support, but this is mostly a street car (or was) so that was never that much of a problem. With a 4 point harness they really work well, and they are comfortable on a day to day basis.

I have a binder filled with a paper copy of "6 into 2" and a bunch of other reference photos and diagrams for wiring and such. Ill also have the 2002 manual and e30 manual at hand.Originally posted by Rally View PostFor the swap, are you following the '6 into 2 does go' directions closely or are you diverging a bit on things like the radiator support and such?
I am fallowing it in spirit more then body right now. I bought a lot of optional stuff and decided to go with a few parts that were listed differently in "6 into 2." I am using the OEM 325i radiator for now, and am going to run a 5 speed from a 318i (G240 trans). I am doing a steering box to manual rack conversion using an e21 manual rack, shortened OEM '02 pitman arms, and an e30 steering column. I also found that the e30 drive shaft will fit with out needing to be cut down and re-welded if you use the G260 or G240 trans from an e30 because it has adjustment built into it. I am also going to run an electric fan and am not using the stock fan. Many other changes as well.
Just loaded the 135i up 2/3 of the way with m20 swap parts lol. I did not know how many dam parts I had until I started boxing and loading them all up! I bet the neighbors thought I was moving out. hahahaLast edited by deutschman; 03-27-2012, 07:57 PM.

Thanks guys! My best friends dad is bringing our engine hoist up from the south bay tomorrow. I got the day off of work so I can be at the garage to unload it with him. I think Ill bring the rest of my parts stash down to the city and organize it all as well.
Sunday I plan on getting up early and calling AAA to have them tow the 02 into the city. Then Ill spend the rest of Sunday pulling the m10 and washing the engine bay out with help from another friend. If I have time Ill start cutting out some unwanted metal and brackets and then start measuring for the radiator support I will fab up.
I am suppose to go to the Giants/A's game Monday with everyone from work, but I dont think Ill make it lol! Ill be glued to the project. I still need to grab some square tube and 18 gauge sheet metal...

I've gotta say....I love this build. I've been watching it over on FAQ, but it's great to see it over here on S|W too. Keep up the great work.
I can't wait to get my 02 up and running.
PS, that finger injury looks GNARLY. Hopefully that's healing up alright.

Oooh I have been waiting for this to show up for a while!

And I saw this tii touring over heating at a Shell station on Lombard here in SF. Guy didnt want any help even though I had a trunk full of tools. I bet he just had to give his stuck thermostat a good knock with a plastic screw driver. He was driving his boss's car

7 days till I start building!
