You will be fine, I had my wisdom teeth out in the fall and I was in the garage doin stuff later that day. Only took regular tylenol, no hardcore pain killers. Be prepared to not eat a lot for a week or so though. Steering column in my old MK2 was collapsed too when I got the car. I'm fairly sure you can pull it out again but you have to take it out of the car.
Thanks Martin, I will give that a shot tomorrow. I keep having crazy dreams about all my teeth falling out, I hope that stops when Im all done with the sugery.
Went and bought all my fluids today. I got my stuck tie rod end off of the tie rod but its still in the knuckle and I cant get it out. Realized that I dont have a battery also........ Which sucks cause im broke. I will update some more tomorrow after I get the engine in.
Engine is just about ready to get put in, I bought a header. Im taking my hubs to school to get the axel ends out with an impact gun tomorrow. And to get my tie rod end off. Hopefully I can get that done tomorrow.
Installed all the front steering and suspension components and changed the fluids. Im going to get my lug bolts tomorrow hopefully, here are a couple pics I snapped with my new camera.
Im getting a flex pipe today, I might go hit a junkyard to see if they have anything I need. Still no luck on finding some lost bolts so I can't put the engine in yet. Also fixed my steering column, I'm almost ready. Its been to long since she has seen the road.
For the wheels, i went to 100,320,400, 600,800,1000,1500,2000,2500,3000 came out feeling smooth as hell, but make sure to take your time and polish them when your done. here are pics before and after.
they where rattle canned black, used airplane stripper and a flexible putty knife to get the paint off, i used the spray stuff, saw no problem like some people say.
and after sanding and a little polish.
they would have came out much better if i polished them more.

Thanks for the info, those wheels look baller. My wheels are stripped to bare metal already. I might get to polish them if it doesn't take all my money to get it on the road. Just bought a flex pipe today, couldn't find the right flange so I will go to a muffler shop and see if they have any tomorrow. And I'm thinking about just getting rid of the catalitic converter. Going to the junkyard tomorrow also.
