The Jetta-works do look great over here! I like what you did with your air-install
Curious to see those wheels on it, i thing it will be stunning!

Ok boys and girls. Install is done for the time being.
Thursday 03/08 put in 7hrs of work, drove down to CT put the car in my parents garage and lifter her up. My parents were hesitant I could do it in two days.... but I did.
tools and ish layed out, had to pick up a 27mm socket for the axle bolt and a 21mm bolt for, I think it was the brake calipers...
First thing was to hook up my dakota gauge so I could see my pressures, I don't like not knowing whats going on with my bags even though I've got e-level.
My brother Dillon made labeled the 14ga wire with colored electrical tape so it was easy to know which wire went to which pressure sender. The un-labeled wire goes to the tank.
I used these instructions http://www.awe-tuning.com/products/v...tgaugekit.html to get an idea of where to tap into. Basically, lighting is the solid gray wire in the 10 position and the switched power is the black/purple wire.
Switched the car on and we were golden. (the arrows are only red because the sensors aren't hooked up)
So I jacked my car up and started running lines.
I decided to run the lines on the outside, whereas originally I was going to run the fronts inside. I just took off the plastic covers underneath and ran them along the brake/fuel lines.

Then I cut/replaced the lines coming out of the VU4 to the rear bags so they accepted the lines coming from the bulk heads.
I ripped out the struts, the rears were cake the fronts were a little more difficult. I used this thread to get an idea of what I had to do... http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...ilover+install
I didn't remove the axles though. I was able to loosen them/slide them out enough to get the strut to pop out. I took the brake caliper off and beat the knuckle downwards with a hammer and it worked well.
As far as the rest of the pictures I didn't take too many, my friend Sean was recording most of it and will have a sweet little build video in a few days. Here are some other pictures I took though.
Washed her off...
My gas door decided to not open, pulled the motor out and realized the little black tab broke and the spring popped out... I electrical taped it back together rather than dealing with warranty at the moment.
Some dope shots my buddy Sean took... http://seandshoots.com/
I wrapped my rear view in wood grain and put a little Bag Riders swag on it.
I do not have the sensors installed at the moment, I intend to install them after I get the shorter sway end links and a notch. I also pre-ordered my wheels...
Huge thanks to everyone at Bag Riders, Derek at Accuair, my brothers and Sean. I'll be sure to have updates soon once the wheels come in and the build video is put together.

I have an idea to make it look cleaner. You can route those ground lines from the pressure senders down under the sensors and along the air lines to hide them. Then you can either tuck them under the Vu4 unit or split them on either side. Just an idea.
I haven't bolted down the manifold setup yet so I don't know exactly how the wires will go, but that is a good idea. I still have to run the sending wires off of the other pole up to the gauge. So I'll probably run them under the senders like you said so they're not out in the open.
Also, for anyone wondering, the polarity on the senders does not matter. You can either ground or run the sender wire off of either pole on the Dakota Pressure Senders.
I just went through my thread and realized I never really got a good picture of the 'new' wood frame set up. Basically I just turned around the tank so the ports face the backside of my seat and cut down the side rails so the floor is a little shallower. This way I'm able to access all of the ports easily without climbing in my trunk and I don't have to have the floor raised hight to cover the ports, I can just expose more of the tank. I'll get a good pic this week.

I was working on the wiring and a few more fittings last night. I secured the power distribution block and grounding distribution block. I also secured the relay the Accuair came with.
I also extended some of the grounding wires to reach the distribution block and I created a little grounding harness for the Dakota pressure senders.
The ground harness tucks behind the VU4 nicely.
It's coming along slowly but surely now that I have a little space to workLast edited by Mike G; 02-10-2012, 07:46 AM.
