  • you never mentioned your oil level during all those shenanigans. but what the mye28 guys really want to see is you putting a 1jz in the car. they love that.

    • Definately use a oil pressure gauge, if oil pressure is dropping at a steady rate then its oil pick up issues like not being long enough to reach the bottom of the pan or there's too much air in the oil (making it like a milkshake) so its sucking up air and oil but not enough oil, if the engines running rich maybe the piston rings haven't been gapped properly so fuel is running down and mixing with the oil, or there's just too much oil in the system, sounds weird but we had similar issues with 20v Toyota blacktop engines and it was a combination of all said above, oh and its rather important to drive like a granny with a newly buildt engine for the first couple kms or miles

I only have 2 stickers on the car. Ignant Squad and fit garage. The Ignant Squad is admittedly the most tacky sticker I've ever seen.

Turns out, my oil pressure sensor wire wasn't even plugged in. (Terminal on the sensor was broken). It's odd that the light on the dash was going off, maybe the wire got hot? Haha. I bought a new sensor, plugged it in and the oil light has not come on since. But the car has been dieing still. Again, after I drive it for multiple hours in the heat of day. It's not overheating. The last two days I drove on the highway for about 100 miles, then once I get into City traffic it started to sputter and then stalls out. Like it's not getting gas almost. If I rev it up it'll "unclog" and work again for a second, then start stuttering again. I open the hood, turn the fans on and wait for 5-10 minutes then can drive for another few miles. The longer I wait the longer I can drive. I'm thinking it's either the coil getting too hot(I mounted it on the block in an attempt to shave the bay), or something fuel related. Even though I've recently replaced the fuel filter, and main fuel pump. Maybe the secondary is going bad.

Right. It was such an obvious thing I completely meant to mention that the oil has been at complete capacity.

Yeah I'm going to smear grease in the engine bay as well. Get that 30 year old car steeze back.

Did some things, well not really. I polished half of my wheels, just the front. I'll get to the back one day.

I started with a rock, 1 grit, then moved on to a handful of rocks, 10 grit, then gravel then sand until I was eventually at 2000 grit sandpaper and aluminum polish.

Also here's the car broken down for the fifth time today.

And a picture of a couple of Ignorant pals.
