Well I got this thing right before winter hit. It had 165,000 miles when I got it. It was one of those things I couldn't not buy... I really like the old 2-doors, so I looked around for a few months and never found one still intact. This one popped up on CL for 1400 bucks and the guy didn't leave any contact info. So I emailed him and waited for 2 weeks to hear back, at which point he said "I really want it gone this weekend, will let it go for 900." Showed up with 500 bucks (and 120 for set of stock wheels with snow tires) and voila! New winter beater!
I think next I'm either going to do the timing belt, or replace the door and fender on the passenger side. Lots of rust but those are really the most severe and noticeable.
In the future, I want to roll it around at about 1 finger of wheel gap with a mega beefstance. It is a 4x4 after all. But I do want to find some sort of front valence to throw on there for the sake of looking fly.
God I love the wheels on this thing...

never seen such beast cracks before

walked out to work one day and it was like this... thought it was hilarious

at the minneapolis impound lot, picking up my buddy's range rover after it was towed from in front of my apartment.

totally rust-free

at work

and a good one in the day light, the day after i took it home

Right away I replaced the brake calipers, rotors, repacked front wheel bearings, new outer/inner tie rods, alignment, tire balance, rear sway bar endlinks, starter, tail light, and windshield. Still a death trap driving on icy roads though. lol
I'll start buying more parts pretty soon here... so excited as everything is so cheap!
