  • Montreal Blue e39 progress to stance...

Well I'm bored so I though I'd make a build thread for my e39, c&c welcome...

It's a 1997 528ia, it's Montreal Blue and has almost 268k miles on it. Original motor and auto trans, although I hope to swap to a manual sometime soon!

I got the car 3 years ago when I was 17 from my dad when he bought a 2001 330xi. He's since totaled that and has a 2003 525i and a 1993 525i 5 speed now. It had 243k when I was given it, here's the oldest pic I could find on my photobucket:

    with the 330:

Then I blacked out the grills with plasti-dip and got some 17x8.5 et15 Mille Miglias.

Then it was M5 front bumper and black window and door trim time:

Then came these, along with 10mm ECS tuning spacers and DJ auto headlights with CCFL angel eyes:

    with my dads 525i

    rollin

then I was rear ended which meant m5 rear bumper and magnaflow 14834 muffler:

As for the future plans, I recently got these for my summer wheels:

Miro stp 3 19x8.5 et15 and 19x9.5 et20. I know they're reps and I didn't really want to get them but they were only 550 brand new and I love the way they look. I tried looking around various sites for awhile but couldn't find a good deal on some real wheels larger than 17 inches. I will be keeping my current Mille Miglia wheels for winter use.

Other mods I have done include: BSW front speakers, Pioneer rear speakers, Sound Ordnance self powered sub and a couple other little things. I do plan to remove the rear spoiler sometime, hopefully sooner than later.

I will be getting some new spacers with my new setup as well, I'll be going for somewhat of a stance with them. I will probably run 225/35 and either 245/35 or 255/30. I'll also be going a bit lower as well.

Over my Christmas I am going to wrap my headliner in black suede too since I have to take it out to fix my sunroof anyway. I also have some engine plans for this summer, new headgasket, s52 cams, headers, m50 manifold and a tune.

3/96 Build Date, Montreal Blue, 304,310 miles and counting...

          I love it man!

Keep up the good work... but you should do 2 things... take of the rear spoiler (you can mount 3rd brake light on your rear window) and buy a rear lip spoiler instead. The other thing that you should change is your tail lights for clear white glass where are smoked now.

But thats only my opinion... overall... I love it.

I agree with clear tail lights Clear and red or all red would look a lot better imo.

            Car looks great though!

Yea the spoiler will be taken care of soon hopefully. And I like the smoked tails, but I want to get some smoked hella celis ones eventually.

I've liked them when I've seen them so far, if I don't like them once I mount them I can always sell them.

looks great. from some angles the wheels look like Racing Dynamics.

the black out theme dont match dark blue IMO, I think it needs something to give a contrast.

but in overall the car is in the right path

Maybe I'll pick up some clear tails sometime then, I'd like to be able to change it up anyway.
