  • Thank you sir... got my wheels in today, need to source lips, they use a 30 bolt lip with 13" faces. Possibly planning to make them 15x8 et7 up front and 15x9 et-18.5 out back.

Can anyone help me to lmk what the face diameter is on 15" BBS RS (30 bolt) is?

    Thanks

I've dealt with VR wheels before, not that much of a fan for a couple reasons. I will check out czwheels for sure thanks.

        • Took the bolts out and kept removing the seal, and they wouldn't budge. I look down only to freaking see this.

Wheels are useless for my wagon now.

          Who puts a seal over a weld...FML

          • I guess maybe you could cut it and if the face and lip or barrel are salvageable/repairable just get new lip or barrels. $$$$$$

OR, maybe they got good penetration and bonded everything

Those wheels would really suit it well I think, and I would **** to not see them on it.

            • Actually a lot of Jdm wheels are like that.
From my experience, a lot of them need to be recut and welded on.
A lot of them are prewelded from the factory.

Agreed, I am looking into different options right now... for the price of rebarreling I could get another set of awesome wheels with the correct width/offset already we will see.

This is not factory or at least I don't think... yes there are tons of manufacturers who will weld it, but they will not waste time to put on a seal on after right?

I think most of the welds on multipiece are actually done post production. I have met a # of people who have it welded because they are afraid of the sealing after they put on new lips/refinish and feel they will keep them forever. I need to make a shirt that says "If you care, do not weld"

Looking into calling some machine shops today, maybe have them lathe the welded area so I can still use them. we will see.

                    • The weld and seal in the pic look super clean and factory like.
Just mho from previous experience dealing with Jdm wheels
My SSRs look exactly like that and when I bought them I thought they were 3 Pc as well.

Trying to find a local machine shop with a lathe big enough to handle it. I know there are tons of wheel companies that can do it, but it seems like they want a ton for something that should take a matter of minutes.

                          • Got a Spearco air/water intercooler from a friend, thinking it will be a great addition to the FI build.

No other updates at this time, went to Glamis and burnt my arm pretty bad on the exhaust so I have take off a few days lol.

Also got this little quiet bilge pump for the A/W IC set up.
