I was looking at the pics, and its strange but your bus has a type 1 motor, as in a 1600, but any bus after 72 is a type four (1700,1800,or 2000cc) which a 79 came with a type 4, so was there a motor swap in the past that you know of?

            There wasn't a motor swap.
The 1600 was specially for the "Bundeswehr" (Army).
It's in since the fabrication of that Bus.

yeah the type 4 2.0 is pretty good, But it is actually a 1800 case with a 2.0l crank. So i would get a Porsche 914 motor since its the same block (kinda) as the vw type 4,

Started to get them fit on the Bus.

                      Out with the Old!

More Holes Found in the B Pillar.

More rust on Drivers Side floor.

Some test fitting. Looking good allready.

Found more Rust on the B and C Pillars. Started cutting it out. It seems its never ending. Hope I can get it back together the right way. More Progress tomorrow.

Good work with all the rust repair. It must be nice having something you can buy replacement panels for. I just finished all the metal work on my old suby and had to make all the patch panels. I'll be keep an eye on this, very interested where it goes.

Ye its cool when you can buy some Panels. But they often don't fit so well, still better than nothing ofc. Also you can't buy anything. Thats why im rebuilding the B-Pillar on my own at the moment.

Still alot of work. But I'm always keeping the Final Product in my Mind. :]
