  • Sookie the E36 (the asian german, wut?)

Meet Sookie, a '94 325is. She has her problems... really its more like constant pms.

    When I first got her.

Found out she likes to catch frogs...

Broke down on my way home with some friends one night. Turns out the drive belt idle pulley froze up then melted from the belt rubbing it, then through the belt altogether. Decided I might as well delete the clutch fan, and revamp the cooling system. Things snowballed and I ended up with this..

Whole front end had to come off to retap a thread hole for the thermostat housing, and the intake came off to change some knock sensors. $50 fix turned into $600 and 2 weeks of down time.

Took the fake M3 spoiler off eventually, it didnt line up like it should.
Then I put some low in her life via Rokkor coilovers and a start towards some stance with 20mm spacers.

    After

Some more pictures from a quick 'photoshoot'. Bought myself a nicer camera, had to play aroud a little bit. Still have to work on the photography skills a bit.

Well moment of truth... deep breath... pull....

And for the first time in 4 months..

              Yessssssssss

6 hours well spent. No more acting like Im stretching or twiddling my thumbs while the girlfriend opens my door from the inside.

Tomorrow I see if I cant fix the sunroof. It started acting up after an angry chick poured gravel into my car through the open sunroof. **** her. Im armed with new clips, rain guard, cables and sunroof motor, lets hope this works.

Still wating on some things before I start work on these wheels, so Im working on attending to the mess of an interior this thing has. First was the radios wiring. The po cut off the stock plug to wire in a new radio, but crimped the old plug back on when he put the stock radio back in. For a few months the the right side speakers were cutting out over every bump. Good ol ebay came to the rescue with a new female plug.

Also fixed that sunroof finally. That thing is a real treat to put in and take out by yourself. Changed out the cables, motor and a bunch of clips. If anyone needs any help with E36 sunroof repairs Im your guy.

And yes Im rockin a Death Squad shirt.

Found out the car wash hates lowered cars...

Started stripping the headliner. The po did a poor job putting it on, but that left over foam is not easy to get off.

                            Crappy door panel before..

                            Stripped door panel

I decided that getting the new vinyl to form and stick to that pocket areas wouldnt work very easily so Im going to fiberglass over the holes. And while Im fiberglassing I may as well upgrade the speaker set up right?

                            Kenwood KDC-X595 headunit
Kenwood KFC-6993PS 6x9's for the rear
Kenwood KFC-P709PS 6.5 components for the doors

Picked the 6x9 adapters up for $20. Cant believe some places sell them for $60

Snagged some speaker mounts from an MK3 Jetta. After ordering the speakers I found out that they're for 6.75's. But hey lucky me, the Kenwoods were mislabeled, they're actually a 6.75 with a 6.5 adapter.

Still working on the mounting. Also working a new way to mount the door panel since those little plastic clips suck.

And I'll leave this little muffler man to say farewell till the next update..
