            • Black is a easy color to match if you wet sand and buff the whole car so it looks more uniform.
Found this out when I did some repaint work on my black coupe.

              • That rear camber is a bit much for my taste but those wheels do look good on the car! Also I am glad to see the paintwork done right. Keep it up!

...and I'm with the guys that say that your basic black is easy to match. I've had a lot of paintwork done on my daily and never bothered with a paint code.

It'd be cool to see a shoot of this car with the silver Ion Redline on 'vette sawblades (although in reality I don't know where you guys are located in relation to each other). Do a feature and call it "Delta Stance" (or something probably much better than that).

this car has already been rear ended, used dupont 99k base and always have been. never had a problem blending panels.

my coils are retro fitted. they are megan racing coilovers from an acura rsx or civic ep3. the top hats are from the civic as well, so i drilled pilot holes in my strut towers and used a step bit to get the size nice and mint (besides using a step bit is a breeze). that was tough. the ears will match up with minor honing to the holes, step bit again. but since i got mine after they were in an accident, i cut the existing ears off and welded cobalt strut ears on the megan sleeves.

                        here's what I did:

megan 32 ways 12k rate from a civic ep3, one got hit. friend didnt know what to do, so he gave them to me for 250 bucks.

took mounting tabs from donor struts

                        mig welded

as of right now, i have an fe1 sway bar to compensate for all the understeer a 12k spring would give me on this car (they're normally 8 or 9k on cobalt coilovers) since they have a longer wheelbase meaning more understeer. so the end links are attached to those steering knuckles on the coilovers you see, bolted a nice 1/4" steel L bracket and bolted the end links into those. gotta get some pics up of that.

as for the rear, i am on cut progress drop springs, which is why i was having the rubbing issues. once i get coil over spring adjustable coilovers for the rear to replace the shocks and delete the coil in perch springs (solid rear here) then i can drop the car more without worrying about buckling my quarter panels again. i still have a ton of subframe and oil pan clearance in the front.

another issue is my axles do not like the angles. they vibrate under high torque and i'm working on raising the engine to compensate for this.

the point of this post is, anything can be done with time, dedication and a little cash.

                          Not quite true.

Blending the color itself is pretty simple if you know the techniques. Some colors are tougher than others, especially when it comes to metallics and pearls, but it can still be done.

Clear on the other hand should not be blended. It can be done, but usually withing 6 months it is easy to see a panel that has been blended.

Anyways, the car looks good, glad the body work turned out good for you.
