 Casey,

I'm glad that I got a chance to catch up on this thread. I also got with a couple of the other guys and discussed things a bit. Check your PMs

holy crap dude - the welds on your pie-cuts are fantastic!
How are you not using any filler, yet confident of getting full-penetration and no dip?

Thanks again to everyone for all of the support! Slowly but surely, things are starting to come together on the frame. The bent sections of tubing, stuch as the door perimeter and side bars are finalized and off to quote... the rest of the tubing and framework will be laser cut in-house. The more this comes together, the more I see myself cruising around in this without any bodywork whatsoever:-)

truly amazing build, and that's an understatement.

i second this. i almost want to send you some dimensions and a solid works model for intake piping for my car so you can pie cut and weld it for me. i need some pie cut intake piping with perfect welds like the pictures you post. still in awe from when this thread began on how nice this thing is coming alongsigpic

Thank you! As each piece is laser-cut, they butt together perfectly...no gaps whatsoever. For this reason no filler is needed. And after doing it for so long (not just automotive related, but fire apparatus, waste-water treatment systems, etc... you become very good at it, and we generally know what works and what wont.Originally posted by TeckniX View Postholy crap dude - the welds on your pie-cuts are fantastic!

For most of the turbo manifolds (.109 - .120" wall) we will run a root pass without any filler, and then use filler on the cover pass. You'll have underfill if you dont run a cover on most of them. We switch it up for different looks/builds/results.

Oh I will, more than once I imagine!Originally posted by StatusRacing View PostLOL it'd be like an Ariel Atom on meth.

Lovin those sketches too, very cool stuff.Originally posted by VitalSigns View PostRauh Welt style...
