I'm not sure how they do it in Australia. For all I know, these are .75 DAMB, which converts to 3/4 dingo ate my baby.

Yep. Tore the motor down after this last update to find an okay, but very tired motor. There were no obvious defects, but all the bearings and cylinder walls looked very well worn.

I decided to rebuild this motor, so that future power upgrades wouldn't require me pulling the bottom end. Here's where I'm currently at with honed cylinders, new cam bearings, new freeze plugs, cleaning, and a fresh coat of paint. I'm currently looking for some 87-92 pistons to throw in there, as they accept many more cam options than my '86 spec units.

Also, found a steal on a set of wheels on Craigslist and picked those up for spares. 18x9.25/10.25 Simmon from Australia. (didn't notice my dirt bike handlebar was in the way until after I uploaded)

Did a bit of a makeover on the motor this weekend.

Stripped most everything off, scrubbed it, removed old gasket material, and taped it up

    Primer

    Gloss black

Now I'm going to strip it down the rest of the way and build it back up with new gaskets.

I'd get the cleanest 6 cyl car (323, 325, 328) that fits your budget.

You don't want to start with a 318 if you can avoid it. There's so many things you need to upgrade to make it work or worthwhile.
