  • 78' Volvo 242

Picked up a 1978 Volvo 242 yellow over brown, 117K on odo, 4 speed with overdrive. It needs a stickerectomy and some minor maintenance but is headed for a slow and low V8 swap.

    Day I got it

    Caulked up sunroof FTW

The 14's were dry rotted and suck so craigslist sold me these as a temporary

Add in some chopped spring altitude adjustment

    And it's still too tall

But it gives me a starting point.

I was hoping those springs in the pics were the ones you were using, not whats cut off. Regardless, nice work! looking forward to progress.

Don't knock it til you try it.
Seriously though Volvo springs are soooo soft that even cutting them doesn't raise the spring rate much, just temporary while I wait for new wheels and build a set of coilovers.

I sold my wagon a few months ago...I haven't forgiven myself yet.

                          I still have a pair of headrests...want?

Wheels are a late model volvo off CL for $300, only 7" wide though, but they are 2 piece.
