    Thank you!

Seems that the cooling system was leaky at the radiator flange for some time (I'd been wondering where the wet spots under the car came from lately, but hadn't found anything while checking). I suspect that some air entered the cooling system there and / or it had dripped out enough water to affect cooling (I have to admit I haven't checked it regularly) and caused it to heat up so much, building up pressure all the while until the leaky spot gave away - meaning the flange broke off.

Luckily was able to fix it on the spot - there was still enough of the flange left to push the hose over it again and tighten it securely. For good measure, I used some sealing mass before hand, to ensure it didn't leak again. After some water refilling and bleeding the cooling system, it worked fine on the way home.

    Fun fact:

This happed on the way to a spectator spot on the Nürburgring (Adenauer Forst), and as yesterday was easter friday, which in Germany is called "Karfreitag", there was LOTS of activey at the ring, as the german car scene goes nuts on Karfreitag, because for us it's "Carfreitag".

Hundreds of people walkind and driving by us as we had to stop there... I heard one of the passers-by shout out "Woah, dude! It's that Touring from Stanceworks, awesome!"

    Autch...

I must say that your Touring is the role model for my Touring.
Because of the fuel prices, mine is a simple 318Tds, but with some fary powders, it have near of 110bhp, and still can make 5,5l/100km.

Good luck for the cooling system!

Not very loud, but it's got a nice deep rumble in lower rpms (perfect for my automatic). I love how it sounds and looks.

Yeah, luckily just some paint damage to the sideskirt. Not visible from above anyways.

But it was quite a scare!

    Thanks guys!

Installed my exhaust yesterday (Soundfile coming up)... what fun! /sarcasm.

Car fell from the lift because the mechanism holding 2 of the arms broke. Luckily it was while lowering the car back down and so not much damage except for some big paint chips on the bottom of the side skirt.

    Looked pretty much like this:

If I was going to define a German style modified car, this would be it, executed to a perfection.

Changed the tie rods and suspension arm bushings (these http://www.bmw-syndikat.de/bmw-syndi...x/SerieQLL.gif ) today.

Went to an alignment. Front sits fine now, camber is a bit more on the passenger side (-3.17 drivers side, -3.58 passenger side), but this just meshes with something else I found - passenger side tie rod had been replaced already a long time ago. Coupled with some suspicious scars I found under the fender and the bumper and also the weird weld-patch on the old fender, I think it's pretty sure that the car had some kind of damage to the front end once, probably a bit heavier as well... Ah, who cares as long as it drives straight, haha.

Tried to align the rear too, but the bolts were stuck again. Passenger side camber is about 1.7° more negative than the drivers side (-1.45° to -3.11). Will leave it as it is for now, getting some adjustable control arms after I've had my wheels approved...

I definitely feel you on this one.
Happened to me with alignment too!
They dicked around for an hour and all they had to do was adjust the toe.
    Charged me $80
    Fuck that shit.
