So you did buy it back, costing you 21% of the 6.5k?

Value was £6500, then the salvage value was 21% of this, which was subtracted from the total offered to me, leaving me with £5135 and the car exactly as it was at time of accident.

Wow, I was just thinking about this car today. So sad to see it go out like that. Good luck on your search for a replacement, I'm actually looking at possibly trading my Corrado for an '83 633csi right now. If I do end up getting it, I hope it eventually looks half as amazing as yours did.

Black with Lotus white interior is the dream, one up north but it is a little out my budget
Find your dream classic car from over 10,000 private adverts plus many more trade adverts on Europe's No 1 classic cars site. 100% F...

    Exactly what I want.

Yeah, but rear quarters and parts that needed replacing were around 10k inc VAT plus paint and labour, just wasn't worth the repair.... I could fix it myself with the cash but rather go for a straight car I think.

Horrible thing to see, especially after reading how excited you were to get it a few pages back. Hope you get another one, your plans sounded awesome.

shame you couldnt nab the rims back in the mean time.

Grey on black > any other colour combo.

is amazing the difference of quality between that old shark vs the newish korean crap.

i mean... that hyundai looks like if it crashed a wall.. and the bimmer barely broke the tail lights.. In my country the people would have kept the bimmr and fix it in a shop with chassis alignment bench. we did that with a Z4 roadster that felt down from a bridge and virtually broke in 2. after the fixing the BMW dealership couldnt tell if it was even ever crashed..

nice to know you will go for another shark.. i vote for black on black

Silver lining and all that I have to think about, payout was twice that I paid for the car. But it was mint, so got to find another mint replacement. Not going to rush into buying will hold out for the right car.
