My 951 handles like a boat on the stock stuff... wondering if I need to go full coilover.
Yeh its mo30 koni fronts with a lower springs from avo and rear is re indexed bars from a turbo . Also has 968 sway bars.Audi 80 tdi Avant-

Also wondering if you're still using the stock NA transmission? I understand they do not like the power of the 951 motor, and the ring/pinion grenade in short order. How's yours holding up?

The weak gearbox thing is internet chatter, I drive this like I stole it, I give it shit on launch often, gearbox doesn't care just makes it quicker. The suspension is solid. It handles better than most cars on the road. If yours is soft it may have worn shocks, when I had a stock one it was still quite firm. If you do shocks, sway bars and torsion bars and drop it like this it wil be like a 968cs. Thanks for the coments guys.Audi 80 tdi Avant-

Hi, I just read your thread and I have a 944 as a first project, still haven't driven it yet, we keep hitting roadblocks. I've had it running on 3 cylinders and it ran for about 5 minutes. It is almost done and after reading your thread I have so many ideas for this car. You are running a Na engine that has been turbocharged correct? I heard that the bottom end of the engine isn't strong enough for that. Any problems noticed? Also I love the wheels you are using, sadly I cannot find them here in the USA
Best of luck on this beast.

@thelyinglink
N/a egine is exacly the same aside from the pistons, so if you use turbo pistons bottom end is no worrys.
The wheels are pretty rare in this fitment anywhere tbh, it took me a long time to find them, and if your car is made 1987 or later you need different offset and cannot have the big dish.

No idea, and im not sure I want to know haha.Last edited by sumpcracker; 10-29-2014, 10:39 PM.Audi 80 tdi Avant-
