    Well I decided that I wanted to build the motor as well as fix a lot of issues before boost so changed plans a little bit!

    Current status of the car. Time for a serious motor build. Planning to clean up a lot of the little issues.

    Some plans include:
    -Milly S or K1 rods
    -Colt race cams
    -interprep or DE valve springs
    -big port job on the heads, or pick up another set to build to get rid of the shaved set.
    -clean up the harness and tuck as much as possible.
    -Redo the exhaust. Thinking about a 3 inch side exit right behind the front tire.
    -Get the MS working on the car, and finish the s/c setup.
    -clean up the interior/remove most of it.
    -driver side DSS custom axle
    -bigger clutch

    Hopefully she will be built and boosted come mid 2013!

    Disk isn't so bad, but still won't hold what I plan to do. Just FYI, F1 Racing clutches will do just fine for bolt on KL setups.





    Took apart the harness and cleaned it. Plan on taking a lot of wires out of it I don't need.





    Put the car back on the ground too. Hoping to clean up the bay some this weekend. Can't wait to start buying parts!



    Harness nice and tidy! All egr and most all probe related stuff removed.



    Next up is completely redoing the charging harness. It has many breaks and splices in it which I think is causing it to burn up over and over again. That and the fact that the KL alternator puts out more amps than a B6 alt.

    Should have fixed this a long time ago..







    That's it for right now. Got my spare block on the stand so I'll be tearing into that next.

    It's off the '82-'92 Camaro. This one was a Z28 so it's a bit bigger than the RS.

    Haven't updated this in quite some time. Motor is out of the car. Cleaning up a lot of little things as well as building the bottom end for the blower.

    damn badass mazda. i hope you can fit the svt supercharger. the lightning/cobra can make 500whp with it just ported and upgraded pulleys.

    btw what trunk spoiler is that?

    Hey that's me!!!! But to answer the question yes it reads it off the MAP sensor. In my experience it's almost more of a hassle to wire in the TPS and use it functionally. The only real application would be for newer motors that have VVT run in conjunction with TPS position and MAP/MAF readings. I've been running MS 2 with only a MAP sensor and have had no problems with running fuel and spark maps.

    It's based off MAP pressure readings. Quite a few late-model cars and trucks [all 4.0HO Jeeps, and most 2.2 non-Ecotec Cavaliers, in addition to most turbo Mopar cars like my Shelby Lancer] use Alpha-N [speed-density] tuning to operate. So long as it knows how fast the engine is spinning, the manifold pressure/vacuum, and intake air temperature, it'll run off whatever you put in the data tables. You can then run a wideband O2 and use O2 correction to fine-tune once you get your tables "close enough" to run well.

    The GM IAT is the best step in the right direction so far. MS is based off GM/Delco sensors by default, and TunerStudioMS should already have default settings for them.

    I too am reading up and learning about MS, but if you have any questions feel free to bounce them off me. I run random BS MegaSquirt ideas and theories off a guy who I consider one of the better MS tuners in the Southwest, and he's happy to answer anyone's questions.

    You know for some reason I figured no one on here would know the answer to that, yet your the first to give me an answer. That's what I get for assuming. Lol

    Thanks so much for that info. I'm still learning about MS so I didn't know if that was possible. I'm using a GM IAT too and ditching the Mazda VAF so I shouldn't have a problem there either.

    Edit: just wondering, how would the MS know how open the throttle is though? Just by reading the air?

    Got the new charger last night. It's in great shape. He actually threw in the plenum too which is a huge bonus. I thought I was going to have to make it from scratch.

    Now the next thing is going to be making my car run off a twin 65mm throttle body and IACV that the Lightning uses. I figure as long as I can get MS to read the right voltage that the Lightning TPS will give off it will work.



    Without the plenum..

    Here's the general idea of what I want to do. Most of the manifold will be cut out below so it will sit a bit lower. Only thing is I still need a midplate so that might cancel out what I take out of the intake manifold, and it will still sit high. The pulley lines up nice so that's one good thing.

    I've got to figure out how to make that plenum work though. It's going totally in the wrong direction. lol

    Believe it or not I did. It held for about 6 months fine, then I tried its strength at the track. Snapped like a twig doing a burnout lol. It held fine on the street but it caught traction at the track and that was it. Lol

    Thanks guys appreciate the words. The m62 sold 2 days ago so i will be picking up the m112 very soon!
