Just lost my license for a year so the whole car is being rebuilt. Draging the rat style further than rusty himself is the plan. At the moment ive started on the dashboard which is being constructed out of 100% steel aswell as some modding of the buttons/dials and everything to get the rusted look.

Plans for the 2 years is to make a new "floor" (so that i dont have to rust the structure of the car)
new roof out of steel to rust. Build door panels out of steel. Also the trunk is being redone in a more "fuck you" way.

For the exterior im keeping the look as it is, though its being resprayed with matt grey and probably being slammed some more.

(Note: please dont comment on the welds as I know theyre not the best, still waiting for the hose on the kempi welding tool so at the moment im using a crappy biltema mig welding tool which at the moment is sucking more dick than it possibly could -_-)

Thats my thought aswell. I see those others competing in car stereo washing there cars all time polishing it and bla bla bla. And tbh I cant be arsed polising and sanding just so the car can shine until another bitch want to slap her fat ass on the hood and make scratches.

So for a daily driver / stereo competing car it works just fine. On the mechanical part its getting a bit of an upgrade. Just gonna fix whats need fixing basicly.

    Thanks for the cheer up

I think you are going in the right direction. If you want a daily driver that you dont need to worry about door dings , want it to look like a beater so no one breaks into the car and steals the stereo. Im not saying looking like a beater is a bad thing.. It can be done so the car is different.

It appears that most people here like to lower then shine and drive. The car goes to shows and endless hours go into cleaning. No problem if that is what you are into.
I have more fun with my Rusty BMW than the nice near perfect 2002 or Bavaria, with a nice car you have to be careful where its parked. Time spent detailing it for a car show. There are some of us that have cars for a set purpose, IE car shows and then ones as drivers. So the drivers dont need to be perfect.

The rusty car gets as much attention because its different and the only care and feeding is on the mechanical side. So those of us that liked rustys looks, we are doing out own versions. There is room in the world for more than one rusty. Just like there is room on this board for the 100s of lowered BMW E36s.. Or Mercedes.. Something that really I am at a loss with.. Take a luxury car that rides nice then lower it and make it ride like crap.
    Just my 2 cents.

Haha djjoden, actually the weight in the back is lowering by around 1-2cm. Im estimating around 150kgs worth of audio equipment (just in the back)

On a another note i got the roofrack up and running.

Works like a charm, just missing some brown paint or whatever.

Also for those thinking the car was in 100% shape before i rusted the hood. Think again. Theres some rust (small spots) around the car.

For those who think stance is having a beautiful car with perfect paint and slammed as low as you can get it. I disagree. As long as its slammed im happy.
Just keep watching and maybe some day everyone will be pleased.

    Even Jesus himself

And regarding mike getting rusty to look good. Thats whats wrong with this place, everyone wants rusty back and noone cant follow in his footprints. Every car is diffrent in every way, so you'll have to wait and see. A project car dosent get finished right away.

@Bam2002 - Thanks for the advice, i'll take it too use very soon :-D
Has nothing too do with following foot steps. It has to do with some cars follow the style and look cool. If you read the story rusty was made because the car was in an accident soo he figured why not have fun with it.. He didnt intentionally scrape all the paint off a perfect car too look like that imop i think its stupid what you did but hey too each there own you wanna drive around looking like shit thats your choice

I tihnk you should just paint it a matte colour because the rust makes it look like ass in my opinion.

I actually like the angry look hood, rust and yellow headlights, but with the interior, they are two clashing styles which could not be any more opposite (rat/rust=old, clean/hightech=new) but I think the rusted body could look good

Any tips on how to rust the rest of the car and how to stop it (i know you cant stop it, but atleast partially)
You can use Ospho to stop the rust.. Mix it with Diesel to adjust the color. RE more Diesel will make the Browns darker. The Ospho will turn white when it get damp. To stop this you can use a flat or satin clear coat to seal it and stop the rust.

My car had a fire so I lost alot of paint on the front clip. you can use a propane torch to bubble the paint then a grinder with 24 to 60 grit disks to sand off the paint..

To make rust fast you can use Vinegar or Hydrogen peroxide with sea salt. then rinse it to get a lighter rust.. Diesel can also be used - a soaked rag to clean the surface and stop the rusting.
