Glad to stumble upon your thread Ossie. I never saw pics of the wreckage, you did a good job resolving all that, I'm thinking about driving my car to Taylored as well. I need to work out some logistics. let's convoy if I end up driving my car!

Thanks guys! The hood is just decopauged on. So got the paper to stick with some glue and pretty much I just coat it in anything that dries clear. It's always changing with cool articles I'll come across. They all are from like the 20's and 40's.

Thanks a ton! Gold Wheels is my dream car. Someday I'll come see your guys' place and maybe get a piece of FMU artwork added to it.

Awe! Clongo. Your build was my main inspiration for the turbo. I picked up a 745i setup and was going to just swap it just straight across much like yours. Then I saw Winfreds mocked up holset he351vgt on a 745i manifold so I thought why not? After I got it, I ran into a ton of clearance issues so it's on an adapter off the 745i manifold kicking up and out away from the head.
        Here's the rundown:
        Holset he351vgt
        Megasquirt
        42lb Injectors
        Innovate Wideband
        FMIC
        ARP Headstuds
And I redid most my drivetrain that takes the abuse. CSB, Guibo, Diff mount.
Hoping to get it going by the end of the week.

That's awesome man! Glad I inspired a few people to take the plunge with 745 stuff. There really isn't a lot of info out there about using those components on a e28. Do you have any pics of that adapter or where your running into clearance issues?

Are you going to run off of the internal WG on that turbo?

I've given up on trying to run a FMIC on my car. I simply don't have enough room up front to run a good size FMIC and I won't delete my a/c to make it work. I'm about 90% finished installing my water Injection setup. I'll let you know how that goes once it's up and running. If it's still not enough, a W/A intercooler will be in my future. If you need any tips on setting it up feel free to shoot me a pm on mye28.

swell, thanks! If the place Sean and Dustin have doesn't have room, I'll be sure to hit you up and pitch in for the space I take up. I still need to figure out if I can even go or not.

How are you going to address hood clearance, or the lack there of, due to the turbo?

You going to keep stock internals and HG?

Since it's dented beyond belief, I'm not scared of taking a hammer/cut off wheel to the area needing clearance.

And, yes, stock internals. Just regular HG for now. If it blows I'll do some beefing up but until then I'll just run moderate boost as I get the vane control figured out. ARPs sure won't hurt the situation, either.

I need more pics!!! So thats where the turbo will stay? I thought that was just a shot of the turbo near the engine. Did you flip the 745 manifold or does the adapter place the turbo up there? I'm a bit confused as to how this is setup.

I'm debating on either going with TCD's upgraded K27 or trying to make a holset work. You can make great power on stock internals. Hell, Todd from TCD is at 460whp on stock block, B35 intake valves, double valve springs and a paul burke cam. 400whp shouldn't be a issue with proper tuning.

SICKKKK! I remember when I was younger I covered my entire bedroom wall in snowboarding magazine pages and posters, and I always thought it would be sick to like paper mache magazine pages onto a car and clear coat over it.. haha

Here's my attempt at explaining it. We made a tube adapter that is 1/2" thick flanges into a 1/4" thick 2.5" tube into the other flange. Both flanges are matched to the exit of the manifold and the inlet of the turbo. I flipped the manifold and made a block off plate for that WG elbow spot. The main issues were clearance... Everywhere. So this adpater piece kicks it out and away from the manifold. I will definitely keep you updated on how it all works out. It's been awesome to keep things on a budget.
                          Here's a quick pic I snapped.
