I really appreciate the comments. It's been a long project, and no end in sight.
Show is actually on aug 26 and it's wekfest nj that I was speaking of.
I think I missed my deadline of that show for the cage, but it will start going together likely the day after the show. Lol. Not trying to rush it. I did finish the cad design for it though and I think it should look pretty sweet. I will post pics when my iMac gets back from apple.

Just thought I'd let you know what an inspiration this build is. I wish I had some powerful story for why I love these cars, but the truth is that my love sprung from playing Gran Turismo as a kid. Since then I've dreamed of owning one, cranked my neck as one cruised by, even felt a slight twinge of jealousy when someone I knew bought one. Even today, I check local classifieds to see if one has come up for sale in my area.
I could only dream of owning one and giving it a worthy treatment as you have.

After being away from your thread for awhile.. Was killing time in Walmart so I figured I would flip through the magazines. Saw your car and had to come check your updates. Good show on the feature! :P

Thanks I really appreciate it. Yeah its kind of a weird feeling to tell you the truth. Never intended to build a car that would get to this level, but the recognition is pretty awesome. Ive always built the car for myself and to test my skills, learn, etc.. but its gotten a whole lot farther then that, and I am thankful. It will likely be a project for me until i am an old man. haha
with that said, im itching to start another project or two, but first i need to make this house thing happen..
Lots more to come, ripped the car apart tonight for a few hours to get some more work underway.
I have to start on some measurements stat so i can bend the parts for the cage. deadlines are getting close...

here is a scan a friend did for me yesterday of part of the article. In total i think its 6 pages long, and the article has some pretty funny stuff in it. personally love the way they described the bay, and the interior.. haha
"A less- assuming enthusiast probably wouldnt even think that this Z ran because of how naked the engine compartment was. The motor looks as if it just floats there, with nothing else in sight."
this might have to make it into my signature:

i already posted this before i think, but i love this shot of the bay.
ripped the entire interior apart in prep for the hopefully soon half cage fabrication. other then that, its been too hot to get a ton done on the car lately. decided that the gap between the aug25 show and cabnibeat fcf likely in october will be when i get most of the work happening with the body widening. If i can get the cage all buttoned up before the aug25 show, i will be happy.
