This is one of the nicest cars of all time. The amount of work and passion put into this... just makes it to be one of the greatest build threads ever. Just my 2 pennies

              • haha my life is even more hectic at the moment. started a new job as the head designer for the interiors division at an awesome industrial design/architecture firm. So between this and the company, things have gotten insane.

if all goes well, the s4 will be gone in about an hour once the new buyer picks her up, and then if it doesnt rain, the Z will be going to the shop so i can tig weld the mufflers on. and then off to DC for yet another set of RS. this time for a personal project possibly. that would be wheel set #9 in the garage at the moment.

                    • Sorry I haven't gone in the garage in the past few days but will get the info on the gauges. The wideband a/f is from innovate I believe and is the analog series. They are all 52mm gauges. The other two gauges are oil temp, and fuel temp, but I might be swapping the fuel one out for something else. The other two gauges might be from prosport possibly, but again, they have been in there a while and I haven't touched them since the install

oh and S4 is sold! now to find a new DD.

the list of contenders i have been thinking of is completely random:

-VW CC- 2.0t white 6mt - new and warranty, all i will be doing is a healthy lowering and some wheels i build for it - likely the best idea so far
-M coupe (Z3 chassis) - not so new, and not so practical, again lowering, wheels and exhaust.
-Cafe Racer - Norton from '70s most likely budget build
                      -saab 92-x
-240z - completely impractical but i have always loved it

open to suggestions- but a few words... Only VW/Audi car that i will get will be a CC. otherwise no more vag cars in my life for quite a while
the main ideas i had originally been thinking of are:
                      -wagon
                      -manual transmission
                      -something with a little style
-awd preferred, if not rwd is ok. i will do fwd (vw CC) but its hit or miss.
-has to be decent on gas (22mpg+)
-quiet this time. need to keep attention at a minimum. just low and clean this time

as you can tell my current thought out list is straying way off the original plan so i need to get back in order

I actually bought a '12 CC last year and have been very pleased with it! It's a CC sport, manual trans.

It gets great gas mileage. I drive 50 miles a day, and avg around 31 mpg. Power is great, even in stock form. Torque comes alive way down low, and you can feel when the boost comes on and pulls all the way to redline. I've done a few small mods already(short shift, torque insert, catch can, etc), but I can't wait 'til my warranty ends so I can chip it! Then some "19 Hartmann's, coils, and done?

I haven't had any trouble with it, whatsoever. The ride is quiet and smooth, the stock stereo is awesome, and it gets looks and compliments all the time. I love it! ...almost as much as my Z.

My vote is for the CC!

                            • BTW, just wanted to say, very nicely done on the intake manifold!
Your work is top notch! It looks sooo much better with the different runner and the hidden balance tube.
Wish I could ogle over your car in person!

                              • Get an F11. with the new diesel engine. You will not be disappointed because top gear says so.

Great work on the car man.
