Nice mini mate. Got one myself on hi lows. I want to do just the same and go lower, just need to get a set of 10"s as its already got the smaller disc conversion. Keep up the good work chap! ^.^

i wish you'd put 13's and low pros on it. although 10's might put it slightly lower, the tyres look like donuts. otherwise good, i love old minis.

Hoping to get some 13" splits in the future when its pushing a bit more power, Im not sure the tiny 998 could cope with bigger wheels... I know the tyres look like balloons but I don't have a choice at the moment
Picking up a daily today though so the engine will be coming out and the bay cleaned up a bit very soon

I don't think they actually make lower profile tyres. well not in decent tyres anyway.

None the less, picked up a daily today.

That is correct, 1990 1.6 5 door golf.

                The More door

Cant afford the insurance on a GTI and couldn't bring myself to buy something like a micra.
So this came up cheap and I had to have it, on coilovers, stainless exhaust, corrado front seats and a set of 15" bbs which you can see in the picture which need tyres and a refurb.
only problems are the drivers door is a different shade of red, and there is a patch of bad paintwork under the rear boot door but thats it!

So been spending a fair ammount of this latley.

brought a turbo cylinder head for my other mini engine, front splitter for the vw, and £100 worth of gaskets and engine bits for the mini engine. hopefully the engine will be ready to go in by the end of the month. just got to source a better spec'ed exhaust and carb for it

Been thinking about 13" splits for a while to be honest, but the engines going to get built first. once thats running N/A ill upgrade the brakes, so ill have no choice. then boost!

                        Edit:
Just to keep things interesting some pictures.

that mini is cool you should put some work equips on there like some 14"

I do fancy the equips. however 14"'s would mean cutting away most of the car! its sitting preety close to the arch as it is on 10"'s 13"'s would be closer still!

and also the fact the pcd is 101.4 i think! which means not alot fits. unless i get custom spec drive flanges.

More spending with lack of progress still
hoping to get the new engine in and running by the end of this month and take it on track :

why not VTEC?, the Honda swap in these minis is such a strong swap. Biggest bang for buck, but still being able to keep the mini stock looking from the outside. Mini makes a good motor, building it makes it better. but i still believe an old technology. Plus are you can still go low!
