I found a couple of places for the adapters. But that will get sorted at the end of the winter, because right now there's no point in dropping a couple hundreds on adapters to run wheels for less than a month.
BigMeech what do you drive? I most likely saw you around too!
Thanks for the comments people!

I finished the transition to winter mode today. I put the winter tires on, put rubber mats inside, re-anti-seized the coil's threads, touched up a few spots under the car with undercoating, rustproofing inside my cut front fenders, hit a few rust spots on the body with por-15 (I'll paint them next spring), changed the oil to 10W-30 and unfortunately I raised it half an inch. Anyways its still kinda low...
However I found a 2 little rust holes (maybe 1/4" in diameter) in my driver's floor. I patched the holes with por patch and painted the rest with por-15, but the floors will be stripped, welded and entirely por-15'd next spring. I'll post pictures tomorrow as it was too dark to take pics when I finished.

did you have to mod the ECU for the new 2.0 engine?
in the first page looks like your rear raceland shock is already blown, isnt it?
Here's winter mode.
The floor rust I found yesterday really pissed me off though. I always keep finding rust on this car... I wish I could move to the west coast just so I can find 30 year old cars with no rust instead of dealing with overpriced clapped-out rustbuckets like we have here.Last edited by Rocambolesque; 11-06-2011, 04:39 PM.

Time for my bi-monthly update lol.
Well, soo after the last post I parked the car. For some reason, driving this car with the windows down in warm summer weather is great fun, but driving when its cold, rainy and dark is no fun at all. Plus the floor rust isn't fixed yet, so I thought I'd give the car a break for a little while. Meanwhile I can take stuff apart and fix what's broken.
Fast forward to december 22nd, a friend calls me, he's going to study away for 6 months and he's having his goodbye party at a bar downtown. Not wanting to come back at 4 am and having to work the next day, I decide to take the car to go there. The car hasn't moved for a month, and 2 tires had a slow leak and hold like 5psi... Wasn't enough to stop me. I inflated both tires, changed a lightbulb and hit the road. I arrive there and spot a street with about five parking places in a row. I park there, an e46 does the same and goes in front of me. Now for some strange reason the e46 BACKS UP, and he doesn't stop. I honked but he still hit me. What a good way to start the night.
I get out of the car and ask the guy about 3 times if he looks in the back when he backs up. He never answered... The grille was smashed, my new VW badge was cracked in half and one headlight was pushed back. No biggie I thought, and the guy agreed to give me 80$, which is about the value of a grille and a badge. The next day I take everything apart:
Bent rad support, and 1 headlight adjuster was busted. If you ever tried to find a headlight adjuster for a VW 7" round Ecode, you'll know they're made out of unobtainium... Anyways, it was a great time to change the grille, since the old one was held with screws (thank you shady garage) and gravity. I also disassembled the headlights, painted the buckets with POR-15, and destroyed a set of old aero headlight to get the adjuster screws, since the other ones were stripped. Found out the aero ones were stainlessI also fixed the city light sockets and ordered some LED bulbs. Reassembled everything:
Next up is bending and painting the rad support, painting the grille strip and finally re-do the lights wiring. After I'll play with the engine a bit. Stay tuned.
