Scored a few parts at the JY today, there's a decently clean R interior available too. Thought about pulling door panels but didn't have a use for them since it's a black interior. I did get the Bumper, ECU, and Cluster though! Contemplated getting the aluminum trim but I've never removed any of that trim and didn't want to break it trying, and it was a bit brisk outside.

Picked up a few more tires to put on the Simmons wheels, can't decide which to run so I will just have to test fit them and the Carlssons to decided which will spend it's time on the car!

Getting ready for show season and just have a few more pieces to the puzzle to get everything lined up with the car for the summer!

Yeah, I've done some research, feels pretty cool to have wheels that I doubt anyone else has in the US. Makes me want to keep them due to their rarity in this hemisphere.

Any ideas on refinish combinations? I kinda want to keep them original, but with them being my first set of real 3 piece wheels, I want to do something cool and make them stand out.

Well... I mentioned another set of wheels and I have finally received them, what they are is a bit different of a story.

I bought them thinking they were 18x8.5, and after spending some time with a tape measure, they APPEAR 18x8.25 (had a few other people confirm what I was looking at). Backspacing is 6" both front and rear, but 2 of the wheels have larger lips than the others. 1/4" bigger lips to be precise. The backpads are slightly different on the rear because they're shaved down a bit more to match the same offset front and rear, but with a slightly bigger lip in back.

you can see the lip difference in this picture

I plan on either refinishing them myself over the winter, or possibly having a friend who does professional refinishing do them for me. (the same guy who did my BBS RK-2). I have 5x108-5x112 adapters already for the Carlssons, and they'll work just right given the widths of these wheels.

The story behind the wheels is that they're made by Simmons in Australia. From my research, Simmons appears to be a similar company to that of CCW or HRE but from down under. Of course, if anyone from Australia knows anything feel free to help me get some more information about these wheels!

This means a lot man. I don't build the car for others approval, but I've said it time and time again when I see a car that is not of my personal style. As long as you can see effort, time and hard work that has gone into the car that is what counts. I see it time and time again, people ****** on a car because of fake wheels, or because of the way they did something. If I can see hard work in a car, and see the little things that took hours to get right, rather than the big things they paid a shop to do, or the amount of money they spent on a set of wheels that all they did was bolt on, that is what counts.

I actually have some other wheels on their way (not getting rid of the Carlssons), and the new wheels are of Australian decent. I'll post up some pictures when they arrive later this week!

I agree. Makes me wonder what the AMG Monoblocks would have looked like had I not sold them. Might have to find another set.

haha, thanks! I wanted to make sure I had a good side profile so in the event I need to photoshop wheels on my car I have a good starting platform.
