Epic fail. Tried for a good 3 hours to get the engine in today and it just won't fit. My homemade load leveler can't get enough angle and the engine hits at the radiator support and at the blower at the same time. Don't know if I'll have time to try to get it in again before next weekend, but I'm going to try to lift just the back of the car next time. I took pics but I'm too lazy to upload them. Expect them tomorrow lol.
you should get some big shiny brakes to go under those RF's, i think you're gonna need them lol.
nice work so far, i want to see it in person when its done.
I've looked into big brake kits, but pretty much all of them stick out farther and therefore give less wheel clearance. The Borbets already need a 12mm spacer to clear the brakes up front with stock stuff
And you shouldn't have to wait long now, my mounts arrived!
Thanks guys! I really need to find a booster soon and I'm running out of places to check. I want to have the car done and driving by the end of June but only being able to work on it weekends is killing me.
Stopped by today for a few hours. Got the wiring run in the new location, just need to lengthen the ABS wires to get to the new location and hook up a few more plugs.
Cut a hole in the inner fender. Much more of a pain in the ass than it seemed like it would be.
Then ran the wiring. Used some conduit clamps that my Dad had lying around to hold it in place.
You can see the square ABS plug up front and where it needs to be extended to right underneath.
Went to a few junkyards yesterday to try to find a V8 brake booster but none had any. I've got 2 more to check before I call the guy that bought the 7 my engine came out of to see if he wants to sell his.
