its been awhile since i have come into this thread.

Unfortunately I ran into issues with my silver DD supra. We went drifting up a local mountain and I spun number 5 rod bearing
at this time in my life i cannot afford to rebuild the engine that was in it, a 7m-gte. but i did have something laying around that would work..
a 2jz-gte that was sitting in my race car supra. AKA Demon.. Demon is this supra ( think you can figure out why demon is the name)

Demon saw everything from fabrication to finalization on him. well he saved me time in the end.. the silver car is now back on its feet because of its older hell sent brother.
and I was almost certain the legacy of Demon was over. now that he had been almost fully parted out to his younger brother. But luckily a stranger gave me something that would change Demon's fate. that object was another USDM 2jz-gte shortblock..

over the next year i will be collecting parts and building this motor. i know its a long time frame, but i am a student and funds are low right now.

Side note on wiring, when you mentioned doing it for a living, I did it for 4 years and after miles and miles of replacing wiring and repinning 100's of 100 pin plugs it gets old. I suggest not using the anodized insertion/removal tools and use the plastic ones, they won't break the retaining ring inside the plug, since the pins are plated they won't corrode, but the plug and wires will and the metal ones will break the ring. Get some enviromental splices, they will save you tons of time if a wire is chaffed or broken mid-loom. And use self bonding tape around sharp edges, etc.

yes it is a stock fuel tank that we sumped. changed the baffling around and welded it up.


stateoftheart - i since have changed my mind on wiring after fucking up majorly.. a buddy cut the main part of the harness in half.. instead of me doing it one by one.. so it hasnt been finished due to confussion

I noticed you deleted traction control on throttle body. how did you plug the holes?
