      • +1 to all of the above comments, this build is fantastic. the stance is absolutely spot on, but the thing i like the most is that its being built 'right'. ie. stuff like making better rear shock mounts (single shear mounts make me cringe...) and the rest of the custom fabrication. getting dirty and learning new things, and pushing the envelope is what its all about, and the more people that are inspired by this, the better.

It's funny that you say this, because I was thinking about your fenders and looking at the 2002 body style and thinking about a specific thread here on StanceWorks about a VIP build where they did custom fender flares. They sort of remind me of Subaru WRX/STI fenders, and the way these guys did it is awesome. I would personally do it slightly different, but the overall concept is something to think about. Plus, there would be no (or minimal) fiberglass/bondo involved, which is always comforting.

I'm sure we could work something out. Burroughs and I are right in your neck of the woods and would love to swing by and check it out. I've got a 2002 sitting in the S|W shop waiting to start on the long process of a build as well.

Love the work you've done so far. Keep it up

                        • I just read this entire thread and wanted to say hats off. No way I could ever do something like this. I don't have the patience. I'm not really into telling people what they should do with their car but I know earlier in the thread you mentioned possibly getting something else for wheels so I figured i'd mention that I think Dave's TMBs could possibly knock this build out of the park.

Either way I love your car and respect you for going against the grain with what the typical 2002 owner would do.

                          • Thanks everyone and Rally sounds great.

Nice wheels^ I'm going to have to think about that.

Body has all kinds of imperfections since I removed all the old bondo/paint. Blocking a few hours a day....making some progress.....

                              • Bought one of these today. Should be here in 5 days or so. I'm really crossing my fingers they fit my application!

Crazy amount of body work all the panels are warped from all my welding and well the body was in shitty shape when I bought it.

Just for the record I deleted all the emblems, all the upper trim around the car, also the lower trim around the car, radio antenna, the front sidemarkers, the rear sidemarkers, the gas cap, the front bumper mount and rear bumper mounts. I'm sure I'm missing something, but every 6" about has been modified and I'm blocking the whole thing so its going to be awhile . Just to top if off the driver door was repaired heavily and I removed an 1" or so of bondo. I have a huge issue with thick bondo so I'm doing as many thin layers as I can and trying to keep under .25".
