After a long debating whether to get a nice winter beater or a convertible project, I decided to do both.... Picked up this 325ic a few weeks ago for a solid deal from a buddy. It needs a new top and some basic maintenance, but a rust free vert on the cheap is tough to come by in chicago, so beggars can't be choosers.
Instead of getting right to fixing the car, since I have a disease that prevents me from being able to drive anything stock, I took my friend up on an offer and bought a bunch of unneccessary crap... Some wheels, spares, temporary suspension, 4.10 welded diff, modified rear subframe, etc.
Put on the wheels, front suspension, and some random sticker from a buddy's mx5 cup car so I could floss around town for the last few warm days of fall.
Around this time I got the car on a lift, and gave it a good look over only to find that this pile of junk is incredibly clean and well maintained. This news, the fact that I really liked the car, and my SC300's motor starting to take a shit led to me deciding to build this car and part out my SC... Getting a ridiculously good deal on this didn't hurt the decision either:
Then I started getting parts together:
Then the fun part started.
Got the interior out and found some rust left behind... It'll be tended to soon when the interior gets painted.
Off to the shop it went.
And that's how it sits as of now... More updates to come.
