    thanks guys!

the rear suspension arms and bracket designs are almost finalised, so should get the files to the laser cutter next week. to keep the ball rolling ive started working on my turbo manifolds, so that'll be the next update topic i think.

I use Autodesk Inventor. Good stuff. Entertaining yet, oddly educational, as usual.

haha same here, i learnt to use it at uni designing a couple of fsae cars too! they're such cool little cars.

the reason i haven't used it very extensively on this build is because i hadn't had access to it until recently, and that the audi suspension is more complex to model than a wishbone setup. i probably could model the rear suspension arms and wheels etc properly but it wouldn't have been any slower for me to just do it on the car like ive done. the main reason im using it now is just so that i can get the parts laser cut, which i need the cad (dxf) files for. being able to manipulate the assembly in 3d is a nice bonus though!

on my next build ill be doing what you've shown above though, as well as modelling a whole spaceframe. it should be pretty nuts. haha gotta finish the truck first though...

lol, i use solidworks everyday now because of work.

Im also modeling up some motor mounts for my LSX swap into my wagon.

    GOOD LUCK!! Love the vids

Little tip, Ive done suspension work for my school Formula SAE team before i graduated, and modeling up the suspension in 2D first, helps out a lot. I was able to incorporate camber, length of control arms, offset, roll centers, etc. Once you get the proper dimensions and geometry correct, the 3D process is much easier. You can go crazy with the design once you know all of your dimensioning and geometry. Hell, ill post up a pic of what i mean.

Looks like jibberish sort of, but hopefully you can understand what im saying, haha.
Hope that make sense, or helps

Agreed! I'm subscribed to his channel on youtube, always waiting for new updates. I think the videos are really a good way to show progress. Much more entertaining than a bunch of pictures posted up.
