just an update, i finished doing one rear arch today, in total it took me about 3 hours of hammering and heating. i would be lying if i said they look perfect, i do have a couple kinks but now iv gained over 10mm more clearance, and iv completely flattened the right angle section [if that makes sense?]



this is as thin as i could get them


from the outside it doesnt look too bad


plenty of clearance


10mm allen key head fits in easily


and compared to the arch i havnt started yet

like i said the finish is by no means perfect, but i now have over 10mm more clearance and im all ready for my next set of wheels to sit nice and tight up against the inside of the arches :P

and yes i did seal the bare metal with some hammerite once i was done taking photos

rubber mallet wont touch it im afraid, it will just bounce off. i was smashing it with a proper club hammer and it takes so long, they are so tough its crazy. and no its not easy to fuck up, as long as you take your time and dont hit the outer skin from the inside you shouldnt mess it up.
but im not going to lye, i have got a little ding on the edge so you wont be left with 100 perfect arches unless your skilled/lucky haha

I attacked the arches again on saturday Sam with a big hammer, spent 2 and a half hours on one side! only managed the one so i need to do the other this weekend, but i have gained a whole finger width more than how you first did it briefly, and the outer skin is virtually untouched.
But yes, 2 and a half hours of repetitive hammering and i had to stop otherwise i would have lost my patience and just rushed and fucked up.

Anonymoose and Jorge i think we need to discuss arches at the feb uk stance meet haha seems to be a hot topic right now! im kinda lucky cos im bagged so i dont really need flat arches for rolling clearance, but i deff need to sort them for my next wheels if i still want to drive how i prefere to atm

Ohhh, arch enemy did mine too, good job second time round after he did one side well and the other side bs, rang them and he came out again and evened them up...then jacked my car on the abs sensor wire and fucked it they worked things out in the end though...get a BIG hammer

Yeah, watched him do it, but he didn't roll the entire arch flat - refused to do it as it causes problems. No matter what I said. Ball ache or what. Paid decent money too through arch enemy.

^ You sure they removed the sealant bro? I got at least 20-30mm out of my roll... The metal is thick as fuck but if rolled comes out this much automatically. Next step is a flair which can be done nicely with a roller...
