Thanks Icana4dit! This build has really been a personal challenge on so many levels - more than I ever thought it would be. But it has all been worth it. Thanks for the respect.

    • 2011 Parting Shot

Spoke with my interior guy today and due to the holidays and present work load, he's still quite busy at the moment. We discussed briefly over the phone what I need done and have decided to get together early in the new year to go over the details in person with the Spider. Nothing major. Just standard work.

Well, it's been one hell of a year and a lot has transpired. And with that, I'm very greatfull for all those that have continued to forge ahead with me and continue to support my efforts. I will not let you down.

        • Spider Update

Been busy with work and have not had time to continue much work on the Spider. However, I did manage to order a few clean-up items.

Aside from new window regulators, door locks, cameras/monitors and other wiring, I didn't bother posting as that's not really that interesting and has nothing to do with stance.

However, I will update with these digital temp gauges that I've been waiting on. Dead accurate and small enough to fit into the main pod. These three gauges will monitor (from bottom to top) - outside air temp, plenum temp and engine bay temp.

This way I can keep a close eye on what is happening to the intake charge and be able to monitor heat levels as well as being able to evaluate on cooling techniques and mods during testing. These gauges are fully programmable with built in alarms, dimmer control of a red output and are able to record peak readings for further analysis.

I chose a simple staggered layout for ease of viewing and made a trim panel covered in suede to coincide with the rest of the dash.

          • Update

Taking care of minor details as of late that are not really update worthy.

For now, a shot of the digital temp gauges in full operation for intake charge, heat management and cooling modification evaluational purpose.

Installed and fabricated mounts to secure the blind spot cams. Full 120 degrees of field view. No more over the shoulder checks. Glance. Go.

            SANY0008-1

Relayed just to the left of gauge pod on (2) 3.5" monitors. (washed out on time exposure)

            SANY0027

Fabricated a thinner and more simplified console to hold gauge controller and files through head unit. The rest of the interior including what I've done will be blended and installed very soon..

              • I've been following since the start but seemed to have missed updates since about November, well worth the read of the last like 8 pages. Absolutely perfect build down to every minor detail.

Thanks Jorge! This is the stage that is so hard to get through. All the stuff that you think is minor, should be a quick fab and install or run test, just ends up fries your brain!!

                              • Update

I've been busy fabricating a new console from scratch as the previous one had too may faults. What I changed was the rake angle on the shifter section - laid it back further as well as narrowed the sides for more leg room.

                                SANY0117

I also implemented a much cleaner layout and finished it off with small detail trim and purpose built sections.

                                SANY0122

After lining up all the panels, I wrapped it all in suede and reinstalled it.

                                SANY0087

There's just the shifter bezel left to fabricate along with the shifter bag mounts and a couple small detail panels to slot into place. Anything that is out of line or missing, my trimmer will take care of.
