Originally posted by 1988montecarloss View Postill probably have to steal your blinker mounting idea since i havent had any on the fron for about a month now and i was just gonna put them behind the grill
would have had an update yesterday, but while I was trimming the bumper with a grinder/cutoff wheel, i decided it would be a good idea to grab some molten plastic with my bare fingers and burned the hell out of them...
so i bandaged them up and got back at it today, CAUSE I AIN'T NO BITCH.
I am, however, a JDM Honda kid faggot, so I bought one of these guys
and put it on
The next pictures are really dark and shitty. I can't even tell what's going on in them, and I was there. Basically, e34's have a driver's side muffler cutout, and e28's have center exhausts. Seeing as how I wasn't going to be moving the exhaust routing, and I wasn't too interested in filling in the gap with fiberglass or bondo or whatever, I decided to replicate the outside profile of the cutout on the passenger's side and cut the center section out entirely. Pretty much just widening the cutout to include the entire bumper. This leaves the sides hanging down kind of like rear skirts and opens the rear so it doesn't look uneven. Plus I think it's cool.
So I'm taking this shape
and putting it over here
and this is a picture of something for some reason
took a pencil transfer of the profile
cut it out, flipped it over and taped it on the other side
and went to cutting
it's looking like it should be easy to mount, it follows the countours and lines of the car really well, and it's much slimmer than the diving board, even when pushed in.
I'm pretty hype on it!

you dont like the convex broadway mirrors?Originally posted by M.BurroughsI'd have to say this site was founded on building the cars we wanted to build, despite if the rest of the car community liked it or not. This site was founded on freedom of automotive self expression and the passion that goes in to each and every build... This site is about doing what you like, whatever makes you happy, and not caring about what other people think...

I replaced the fresh air blower motor. Both removal and installation involved a hammer. I've got nothing against Germans, but the guy who designed that whole situation was definitely a Nazi. Aaaaaand two shitty pictures that don't show much of anything coming right up....
Did a bit more work on fitting the rear bumper. It comes with these frame-like reinforcement things
decided to mount those directly to the body and the bumper to those to help hold the bumper's shape and eliminate the need for fabricating brackets and such. Cut out this thing that was in the way.
then self-tapped that bitch on.
that's as far as I got.
then MY PAINT SHOWED UP.
then I opened the box and realized they FORGOT THE FUCKING COLOR. HOW THE FUCK DO YOU RUN A FUCKING PAINT COMPANY AND FORGET THE FUCKING COLOR. FUCK.
This will make finishing the car by SoWo mildly more difficult.
Mildly upset about it.
