My W202 Mercedes build thread. ballin' on a budget.
Ed ( D&W On here ) was kind enough to give me a great deal on these authentic. harder to find19x9 19x10 lorinser LM1 2 piece wheels made by ronal one is damage but i think i can deal with it I have plans. Going to refinish them up and see where they take me no shots other than a few instagram ones i got. but trying to stay as true to a "budget" as possible even though i learned long ago modding cars the budget is always being broken. LOL. but He did shoot me the wheels for only $140 USD.
I was also able to find most of the chrome trim piece for the door and bumpers that i had previously painted over , at the junkyard. It was a great find for $17 dollars. Especially considering just the single chrome piece in the center of the rear bumper for a W202 is around $125 new. and i only had to strip back and sand and polish one piece . this was due to the fact i had sanded away the chrome before painted over them.
so many of you know that i am a paraplegic, this is off topic and does not pertain to my build thread what so ever. but they are wheels I run them at -4 degrees camber. and I am building them myself! They are 18 spoke woven carbon kevlar radial laced spinergy spox everyday wheels in 25 inch. I had the hubs, rims, and push rims anodized in type 2 gold. & hand polished the quick releases. will be using my spare titanium frame to build them onto its identical to the one i use now. Will be going with powder coated white frame gold & black wheels. and gold & black hardware here and there with black cushions of course. All of the parts / wheels are things i have laying around the house. the wheels were in dire need of a refurbish anyway.
Why have I never seen this before? I read the whole thing. I cannot wait to see the new wheels on your car. The polished lips and chrome accents throughout are going to make that car pop so nicely, man. Seriously, can't wait.
The fact that you are "building" a chair for yourself is too awesome, I really do love your attitude.
I used to work at a bike shop that also built some chairs for people, really awesome your building your own wheels!! The quality is crazy on those parts. The benz is also looking great, I keep checking for updates. Never been a big fan of the styling but yours is certainly changing my mind.
