      • YOU ARE A BEAST.

However, I disagree with that intercooler setup. Ruins the cleanliness of the bay and doesn't make sense with airflow. I know your intake mani is big but I'm sure you could fit an intercooler in the from grill like most mk1 people do.

              • Building end tanks and charge pipe inlet and outlet flanges from scratch

                End plates welded on

                Quick mockup for fitment

Close up of the compressor charge pipe inlets into the intercooler

Engine bay shot with the intercooler

Fittings arrived for the heat exchanger and intercooler

Last few days we were held up because out metal bending brake was broken due to trying to bend 12 gauge aluminum sheet metal

Finally fixed the side cover could finally be finished and boxed in. this is the final piece needed to finish the intercooler. 1 seamless bent side cover.
This piece was very important to us because with the size of the intercooler and how boxy it naturally would look we had to give it some sort of symmetry to flow in the engine bay as well as function for air flow.

After that we boxed in the charge section, and finished the end caps, also all cut and boxed in by hand like a jigsaw puzzle.

The intercooler is now 80% done, an fittings need to be welded on for water, and the intercooler will be pressure tested and coated black.

                Detail shots

                Mocked up

                Charge pipe section

                Closer shot of charge side

unfortunately with the short runner and the need for a big radiator and oil cooler space we could not make an intercooler work with this setup.

                          • I think the intercooler looks great, plus it sounds like it was the best option for IAT cooling. Great work.

                            • I too am very impressed with the level of work, craftsmanship, detail, and creativity in this build. This is the first time seeing this project, as I ran across it from a SpeedHunter's blog; amazing stuff Mike and rest of the Eurowise team!

From the work done here, I had to go visit your webpage, and am throughly impressed by what you represent with your mentality and altitude. (Really cool touch w/ that video interview by the way.)

I wholeheartedly wish you and your business much success, as I too joined this forum just to support this thread and subscribe. You guys certainly deserve your following!!!!

                              Sincerely,
                              - Michael
