Here is my 1990 300ce, 178,000 miles and going strong

It is sitting on h&r springs with kyb shocks, AMG reps 18x8" with 225/40/18 all around.

It is in need of some spacers all around and need to get the 8mm spring pads to bring it down some more.

Here are some pics for now, I am going to get some good shots this weekend.

Take the springs pads out completely and cut a coil all around. Im currently working on a set of custom coilovers for the w210. Should be priced around $500-$600 instead of the rediculous price starting at $910 for ksports.

I thought there was an issue with trying to run coilovers on w124's because of the way the lower control arm is setup on it?

Do you have a dual link lower control arm on your w210?

Also do you have any rattling/ noise or roughness from not running any spring pads?

It's coming along slowly but it will get there, also looks a little higher because it is on an incline. But right after I lowered it, the whole car changed. Wayyyy meaner looking lol

I haven't decided what I want to do with the badge yet, all of the chrome trim is going to be removed and powdercoated flat black. But with the badge on the back I don't know if I should scrub it and fill the holes or keep it for when I finish fabricating my supercharger for it. I was thinking of changing it to 30ce with a kompressor badge on the other side (both powdercoated matte black like the trim) but I am not sure yet. Would confuse the hell outta people haha

Bilstein sport shocks and struts would work best for you. Also, you can try 500e/e500 springs and cut them to desired height if your lowerings springs are too soft. There is no coilover solution for w124/c124/w201 and such because of many different reasons. This car will never be autocrossed anyway so cut 500e springs paired with bilstein shocks and struts will let you ride comfortable without being too soft, and handle good at the same time.

Bilstein sport shock (shorter shock travel), ksport adjustable spring perch, and a set of cut lowering springs lol

All of the companies that make coilovers for our cars will actually sell you the adjustable spring perches for about $80 for all four. They will also sell you the shocks (d2,ksport,and KW) separate for around $120 a piece if you just want the shocks. Combined with cut springs, you have fully adjustable coilovers, for almost half the cost.

500e springs are going to be super pricey and hard to find. Thanks for the suggestion though. I think 400e sportline's are basically the equivalent of 500e springs. Do you or anybody else know where I could find a 500e front sway bar?

                  Thanks.

                      Thanks man!

...I'm heading in the direction of 9psi of pure power on a nice lateral power curve starting when I touch the gas pedal

....that is after I rebuild the top end though. burning some oil, kind of a bummer.

I see you don't want to cut the H&R springs, I feel where you're coming from. I can say that some people roll without ANY spring pads. That can give you some more low. Cause I don't think the smallest spring pads will do it. I'm rolling with the smallest spring pads, but I'm on severely cut springs. Before I cut mine so much I asked the local master tech at MB and he said that the only thing about running with no spring pads would be that it would be noisy. So I asked around and people say that it's not noisy, or at least they don't notice it (verbatim what they said). So maybe go that route? As far as wheels...I would maybe do these?

they're multipieced, so may be able to do something with that, and I don't see a lot of peeps rocking them so might be able to get them cheap, and they're 18's. I mean, if you end up getting them and not liking them, I may trade you for the monoblock's if you want

my springs are enough stiff, but i got problems with the shocks... i think that a shock with the same hight, only harder/stiffer will not work proper on dropped car? Otherwise i can buy a set of bilstein b12 or b14, but the price is around 1200-1300euros - too much for me.That's why i really don't know what to do...fawk!

I didn't really think about it before I did the spring swap but the smallest spring pads you can get are 8mm and the ones I have on now are like 20mm or something ridiculous like that. I may just get the 8mm's and shave em down or just try riding without them like you said. After would be to cut the springs a bit but it pains me to start choppin such beautiful springs lol

Those wheels are sick, I def wanna be rollin on something AMG. I found a legit set of staggered 3 piece monoblocks in tampa that had the centers already painted the same color as my car for $1200 so i might do that. I'm debating though whether or not I want to do performance stuff first and then get some really nice wheels or vice versa?

But I came across this on the peach parts forums, though maybe you would be interested, there is a guy in Taiwan or something making polyurethane bushings to outfit a whole w124. His prices are somewhat reasonable too
the juddering of the engine on pull off has increase to the point i can take no more, i think my engine mounts have scummed to the power increase, and
