  • 1982 VH Commodore Wagon

It started almost exactly one year ago that I recieved a car on the transporter that hadn't run in 2 years..

Proceeded to get it running, legal and lowered over the next 10 days...

Drove it for a while on the anemic 4 cylinder motor that couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding..

Then I sourced the parts to chuck in a bigger gruntier 6 cylinder

Drove that round for last New Years while camping out the back of it with a few other wagon buddies..

Bought a spare car with better body parts and parked it side by side - I think mine is high but OMFG the stark difference compared to factory - it's higher than a junkie on some sweet crack mixed with dishwasher powder..

Over our winter just been I pulled the motor again and decided to tidy up everything from the windscreen forward..

Stitching on a set of front panels to fix up the ones that were F&*ked when I bought it..

Had it all painted in a matt fnish of the factory colour to match the rest of the paint as best I can..

Then had to replace the screen for legality - had a crack that was much too big..

That was all up until last week..

Last night I pulled the interior out and began a quick tidy up in there - have to put it all back together tonight/tomorrow for a roadtrip this Friday..

Now the reason I joined this forum was because of a certain slammed trailer which I have chosen to copy quite blatantly..

    so I bought this

    and did this

Well - thats a years worth of work in a quick post - not much about "stance" in there aye.. This is to come.. I will outline my plans in the next post and hopefully you'll will see a pic of a bagged wag dragging a slammed trailer in the next 6 months..

For slamming I am planning on this course of action..

Build my own strut legs like this

    Them in car

and some rear arms like this

    Them in car

This proves to be a fairly suitable slam as evidenced by the car that had these suspension mods performed..

These are the 17" steel wheels I want.. Now to find them..

anyone got a heap of spare time and money they care to give me..

Good progress so far. So what rims are you looking to get?

No the ones I am after are actually Peugeot 407 spare wheels - they are 17" and 5 x 108

I have the 4cyl stud pattern still - even though once I go 6 cyl brakes I'll change the stud pattern 5 x 120 back to 5 x 108.. because the 5 x 108 has so many sweet wheels available..

Why dont u get a set of custom wheels made for ya?

I am really broke with far too many ideas.

I cringed when I read the title, but I'm looking forward to see how this pans out

                              question
what were the larger steels you used off (4th pic from top) were they still 5x108 or had you swapped to 5x120? and what lowering springs did you use and how much of a drop? Ive got a 4cyl sedan and just seeking advice
                              thanks
